Hi Ladies!
Welcome to the IVWCC Announcement Channel. On this subchannel, you can post your own announcements. It's not difficult, all you have to do is type it in, just like you would in an email or word processing program (like MSWord or WordPro).
First, let me introduce you to the new calendar.
You can find it here:
To add your event, simply click on the date, click the Enter Event button (top left of calendar area) and enter, then SAVE the information. You can select specific categories, icons, etc.
ADDING LINKS TO URL's or EMAILS to your calendar entry:
For those of you who may have documents for which you want to include links in your calendar entry, you can include the link to your web-based announcement by simply typing the url into the calendar entry.
To make it a live link, use the appropriate code snippet below:
Below is the HTML code to use to accomplish this.
Convert Text URL to hyperlink:
Copy/paste this code and replace the text "ENTER URL HERE" with the url for which you are creating the hyperlink. Please take care not to include any extraneous spaces or characters or the link will not work.
Convert Text EMAIL ADDRESS to hyperlink:
Copy/paste this code and replace the text "ENTER EMAIL ADDRESS HERE" with the EMAIL ADDRESS for which you are creating the hyperlink. Please take care not to include any extraneous spaces or characters or the link will not work.
IVWCC ANNOUNCEMENT CHANNEL:
If you have an extensive announcement you want to include, or documents to share (non-private please) and you don't have a website/hosting account to create and upload them, you can enter an item to this channel then include the item link in the calendar entry. (Those with their own websites/hosting accounts can do this too, but linking to your own site brings more traffic to it, hence improves your website ranking!)
Here's how you can post your own item:
1) Sign up for Quikonnex and get QuikView added to your browser
toolbar by following these
Simple QUIKSTEPS
2) Using the QuikView link you just created, logon to the Members/Publishers Area
(select this from QuikView dropdown selections)
using this QName: IVWCCAnnounce
You will need to first obtain the password in order to logon.
This is necessary to prevent non-members from posting to this
"open channel". Use the QMTP box below to obtain the password
if you do not already have it.
3) Once you are logged on to Quikonnex, select the Member/Publisher Area link from the QuikView dropdown,
then select Your Channels. On the resulting page, click the Add Item for the Announcement channel.
4) The rest is simple. Type your title in the Title line.
If there's a url you want the title name to link to when displayed on the channel, type that in the link url line.
Type (or copy/paste) the first paragraph of your announcement into the BODY text box.
Type (or copy/paset) the remaining information into the EXTENDED BODY text box.
Scroll down and click SUBMIT.

CLICK HERE to view the item you just posted. To Capture the URL for your item,
go to the LINK TO THIS ITEM link just beneath the item, right click, select copy shortcut,
then past that into the calendar (can open notepad and save it off if you need to) so
others can find your document.
6) If you need to edit an item, swap back over to (or logon to ...see #2 above) QuikView,
Select the Member/Publisher Area link from the QuikView dropdown,
then select Master Item Manager. On the resulting page, find your item and click
on the EDIT link beside it. Edit and SUBMIT as before. When you edit, you can also
use the PREVIEW tab to see what the post will look like.
A FEW HINTS:
If you try to logon to QuikView and the qname after logon indicates GUEST, you need to set your browser security to accept cookies from Quikonnex.com and add Quikonnex.com to your trusted sites.

If you post using a mix of html and text, and your formatting/spacing is "funky", follow Step #6 above to edit and add/remove all hard returns from the item. This channel is setup to allow those who are not technically proficient to post to it, so the system recognizes every time you, or the original author, hit
or while typing the announcement.
