And The Saga Continues.....

Thursday, November 23, 2006

It's been over 5 months since my last post. I apologize for that.  Life intervened. It's been a pretty wild 5 months and it isn't over yet.

Things with my family have gone from bad to worse. Mom was put back into the hospital 2 months later with pneumonia again. She recuperated at a faster rate this time, but decided she couldn't go home again because of what is going on there. She feels it's too dangerous. She won't let my sister or me move in to take care of her. She says it would just be too  hard on us. And really, it would be more me than my sister, I'd end up having to take care of her too, she has a lot of medical problems too.

Mom feels though, that it would be too dangerous for any of us to live in that house again, even if the bad ones leave. There are things in progress though that I can't talk about right now, I just hope it ends soon. Mom is in a nursing home/rehab and is moving to a foster care home this coming Wednesday. She feels she'll like it there, it's a brand new house and is run by good people according to her. I hope so.

It's very sad that

I'll Do It Tomorrow Honey....

Sunday, March 12, 2006

I read this article by Ron Hutton and just roared. I kept saying: yep, yep, yep. LOL. My husbands favorite mantra is: "I'll do it tomorrow", so when I read this I just had to post it. :)

Wife: "Hey honey, the brakes seem to be leaking on my car."
Husband: "We'll fix that later." (BAD ANSWER)

Wife: "Hey honey, how's the new website coming along?"
Husband: "It's up and live! It may not be perfect, but we'll
fix that later." (GOOD ANSWER)

Wife: "Hey honey, the sewer is backing up and the toilet is
overflowing all over the master bathroom floor."
Husband: "We'll fix that later." (BAD ANSWER)

How To Save Money At Christmas

Saturday, October 08, 2005
Dove

Is there such a thing as an affordable Christmas holiday? A holiday when
you aren’t shopping at the last minute with no real idea of what gifts
you want to buy? Of course! Just imagine a holiday with plenty of food,
fun occasions with family and friends, and gift giving that doesn’t
exceed your time and dollar limits. It will all become reality when you
learn the tradition that lots of families share each year.

So what’s the secret? The tradition (and it’s really no secret) is drawing
names for Christmas gifts in your family or group. Some people call it..more..

Once Again...

Saturday, July 23, 2005

This is to all women everywhere (sorry guys).

cc image This morning, I went to one of our credit card sites to pay our bill.

For some reason the site kept telling me that my login information was not correct. I thought: this is weird, since I'm the one that set it up.

Hi Glenda,

I've had this happen too and while it's frustrating when it happens - believe it or not, it's done for 'our' protection. And like it or not, it does make you feel like a 'second class citizen' when it's happening.

The key - when you originally set up the account - be it an account, credit card - whatever - is to set it up so that you both have equal access and input.

When everything is running smoothly - we don't worry about this kind of thing but when 'something' happens, it's frustrating as hell to accomplish something positive.

It's not just women Glenda. I've had the same thing happen to me with my wife's account. She got the AMEX and added me on as a card holder. I had to call AMEX once and got the same story. I had to 3-way in my wife to get authorization.

LOL, thanks guys, I appreciate it.

I wish I could think of good things to say like above. I always think of them "after" I've spoken with them or after I've mailed them a letter.

Good luck Glenda. Maybe next time your husband is home, get him to write a couple of complaint letters to everyone you have to deal with finacialy. Then when you get a found brain like that you can simply say this.
My husband is not going to be happy when he finds out you are descriminating against his wife while he out working for a living, after all it's 2005 not 1945. I am sure he will send out a complaint as soon as his hand hits the door. Who should I tell him to send the complaint to? What is their name so I can write it down for him. I want to be sure he gets it sent to the correct person so we can handle this issue. Is this what you wish me to do Or would you rather avoid looking like an idiot and take this opportunity to be professional and work with me, the primary card holder and your customer to solve the problem.
Of course if they still don't want to help, then you simply send out the letter immediately and wait for their answer.
You can get them to communicate with you on your terms with a little planning. You can also send your own letter with "your husbands" giving you two voices when you send the complaint. Remember that when you are married you are not second and neither is he. You are together as one so you are a mighty force - together.
Just a thought and not to be considered legal advise in any way. Just my humble opinion. :-)

Glenda I agree. It is rediculous that you can not pay on line with a credit card with out going through that. I once was going to help a friend out and pay a bill for him. It was a pre-paid cell phone and they would not let me buy minutes for his cell phone without his authorization. It is the most stupid thing I have heard.

Oh Glenda - what a colossal pain! You just never know do you. It seems we all have to be so much more conscientious about every step we take these days. It's really a shame, isn't it? Whatever happened to the honest business person?
