Well, as you can see from the absence of posts since the message below was posted last June, I just can't seem to keep up with a full-time job, several Q channels/sub-channels and all the websites. So I'm trying to consolidate, streamline and otherwise simplify my life.
I'm in the process of building a new website to combine my gifts/collectibles/decor site, jewelry site/channel, and photography website. So far, I have transferred (aka rebuilt) the gifts/collectibles/decor portion that was on this channel and CarltonsGifts.com and the photography products that were on CarltonsPhoto.com. The new site is CCIRockport.com.
We now have the retail gift shop as well as a new addition. We had attempted to get our custom frame shop going at home, but we're just a bit far out of the comfort zone of some of most of the locals. In Sept 2006, we rented another shop in Waterstreet Mall, where we opened our retail frame shop in October. For now, you can see more about the frame shop at CarltonsFraming.com, but I'll soon be moving that new site over to the newer CCIRockport.com.
I've had so much going on in my regular job, then on my own clock I do the books, ordering, pricing, some shelf stocking, jewelry making, helping with framing when that side gets busy (as we like it!), website maintenance and...well, you know. It just snowballs and each thing you take on adds more work, more complexity and sucks more time away from your day.
Then the household projects - planned and not - get worked in based on criticality. We have accomplished nary a one of the projects we had planned to get done on the house during the winter before it gets too hot to breathe!
Don't get me wrong, I love it here in Rockport, but I spend from about 6:30am til ??? pm on the computer for my day job, then just keep the ever-expanding backside right in the same seat, switch keyboards, and pick up on the home businesses.
There's a lesson to be learned in all of this. Don't spread yourself too thin or you get nowhere fast! I hope all of you HAD a wonderful Valentine's Day and hope to see you soon at my new website...... CCIRockport.com.

Easy Summer Party Themes
With the Independence Day holiday behind us, many families have already returned from summer vacation and face at least a month of long, hot summer days ahead.
Daytime is great for swimming and playing in the sprinklers, but what do you do for
excitement when the sun goes down?
There's no better time for an outdoor party than on a sultry summer night.
The best part of an outdoor evening party is that you really don't even have
to cook. Here are some ideas for party themes and planning:

The holidays have come and gone. Out with the Old. In with the New!
After the holidays, it's such a let down to pack away all those gorgeous
ornaments and return to the normal daily decor. Adding a single new
centerpiece to your diningroom table, foyer or mantel can really brighten
the room and give it a fresher look. If you have a blank wall or tall
stairway to decorate, try a series of matching shelves or sconces
"tied together" with fabric or rope. Use the shelves to display artwork
or photos in a decorative easel back frame.
If you don't like displaying pictures or you can't find artwork for
your room, try making a collage of fabrics that match furniture or
curtains in your room. All it takes is remnant fabrics, some foam core,
matboard or even cardboard and a good quality spray glue. Voila'....
