So you think you can't write an article (pushaw)!

Saturday, July 17, 2004

I'm asking drivers and those who deal with us to write stories about your experiences and e-mail them to me. Now I realize that at least some of you may be experiencing finger lock up at the mere thought of typing out a bunch of words then have them published along with your name for the world to see.....

(If you either have Popups blocked or are not allowing Java Scripts to run you will find a HTML link(s) at the end of this article)

Well I can hardly say there is nothing to it when I look back on all the spits and spirts I went through when trying to compose my first article. The thoughts of what do I write about and will anyone want to read it. Not to mention how will I come across to those who do read it.

Well let me say that a little luck was stretched a fair ways as the world of WiFi was opened up to me and being as I am on the road a lot it seamed the perfect entry point. Then I had another spot of good fortune come my way in that someone I respect namely Jim Gray of GrayScales read my article and commented on it, and in a favorable light too.

Now with Twenty some odd articles under my belt I've managed to toss in a little HTML and Java Script into the mix and the results are fairly good. The best part is the uncertainty has moved into the background and I am having fun with it.

Now as most of you know us truck drivers arn't exactly the brightest bulbs in the string -- hell what other profession other than maybe farming is trying to work more hours for less money when all the others are trying to shorten their work week and get paid more for it...DUH...

What I guess I'm trying to say here is that if I can do it then so can you. Everyone of us has been privy to or has told some pretty interesting stories about the life we lead and for the most part have gotten a hoot and holler out of those we've shared these experiences with. So write them down and send them to me and I'll share them with all those who haven't yet had their ears warmed by a true story trucker style.

Click on this link to find out the kind of stories I'm looking for and where to send them. In return I'll send you the link to the article when I post it so that you and the world can find it.

Fear not you're only a green-horn for about the first three or four words from that point forward your a literary force to be reckoned with.
