The initiation of your SBI site is done through SBI Manager Basically what happens is you select a domain name and then key your purchase number into a field within the Manager and your SBI site is initiated.

Choosing Your Domain Name:

Before you do this you need to decide on what domain name you're going to use for your site. There are a number of strategies here, and differing opinions on which way to go with the domain name of your web site.

My opinion is that a domain name needs to reflect the theme of a site. This is done for two reasons, being a) it tells people what type of information they'll find on your site. This approach improves the pre-qualification process and, b) Search Engines (especially Google) reward themed sites.

Now if you have a bricks and mortar business, and you're using a web site to promote your business locally then a slightly different approach is used.

One way to use both your business name as well as optimize your URL for the Search Engines is to use your own business name as the domain name. This URL is put on your business card, and (using a domain name redirect/ forwarding service) you'll redirect the URL to your online search engine friendly domain name (which is your SBI site). If you've found a keyword phrase in your SBI Manager search that has high demand and low supply (that's available as a domain name) you'd use this phrase as your domain name.

Domain Direct - www.domaindirect.com - is the domain name registrar for the SBI sites. They have a domain name forwarding service and, as you're using an SBI site, you may as well use this service (for technical reasons). You can also use "domaindirect" to identify the availability of your domain name before you initiate your SBI site.

Caution: www.bestwebsite.com or www.best_web_site.com are NOT valuable (in Search Engine terms), because neither of these combinations are English words. However, www.best-web-site.com IS valuable if "best"... "web"... "site" or "best web site" or "web site" are high demand/ low supply keywords. Get the idea?

Once you have all the ducks in a row click the set-up link in SBI Manager and it'll intitiate your SBI site. Now it's time to commence building your SBI site.
