PART I "Email In The Crosshairs: Felony Fines and Jail Time!"

It has been said we have very few limits except the ones
that we set for ourselves. And those out of fear from the
past. Letting your past control your present is a sure
formula for failure. The surest path to growth is simply to
grow. First, you have to be willing to step out of your
comfort zone!

The surest sign that you are on a self-destructive path is
if you keep holding on when every sign tells you to "let go."

Have you noticed over the past year [especially the past few
weeks] that email is taking a terrible beating?

Guru after guru has sent out the same warnings about FTC...
interference with legitimate business email... their message,
"get involved before it's too late."

Some have even offered bribes to get you to send a snail
mail to the FTC commissioner.

They've railed about the coming suppression lists... their warning
... email is dead. Ironically, some spammers even used copies
of these same messages as a way of getting you to give them
your name and address so they can send their junk "with your
permission."

One guru says: Warning: As many as 46% of your subscribers
ARE NOT receiving the email messages you send them!

...and goes on to say,

"An Alarming Number of Your Subscribers Never Receive Your
Messages ... And Few of Those Who Get Them Actually Read
Them!"

Another laments: less than 10% of your subscribers may
actually be reading your email messages ...

And yet another says: "Email is the oxygen that pumps more
blood into your online marketing." [no, it doesn't make sense
but then we're not gurus, now are we? :~)

Of course, these guys all point to Guru X's perfect solution
in 'today's frightening environment'. It's no coincidence that
this "solution" just happens to be another new product.

Ok, lets try to put this in some prospective:

1. Bill Gates wants [along with all too many politicians] to
charge a per email fee... with a net worth of nearly $45
billion dollars it's a cheap and legal way to "off the
competition"

2. The FTC is going to inflict, yes, that's the only term
that expresses their intention, inflict rules regarding
suppression lists where an affiliate will have to clean
his/her list against the affiliate program owners list
[and vice versa] before being able to contact their
opt-in subscribers to avoid losing their business to
SPA*M complaints.

3. ISP's are filtering almost half of all email messages
before your subscribers ever get a chance to read your
message. [one ISP is even filtering religious content]
Even if that weren't the case, the statement "The Truth
will set you Free" will get you filtered virtually every
where... talk about ludicrous.

4. Of the 50% of messages that do make it through the ISP
gauntlet, upwards of 80% of those suffer what is called
mass-deletion [readers simply have too much email and too
little time]

5. Every solution being offered seems to point in the same
tightly focused direction, namely getting more email
addresses into the data bases of fewer and fewer gurus

6. Amazingly, each of these gurus will either offer product
revealing their ‘secrets’ of making this dead system work,
or become the super affiliates of those that do.

7. As email becomes less and less effective, and with the
introduction of suppression lists, these same gurus will
begin offering online services to help you [for a monthly
fee of course] overcome what they say are insurmountable
hurdles

8. With increased government interference and the
introduction of suppression lists, these same gurus will
offer high priced solutions to the problem of unresponsive
email lists [of course, these new solutions won't help your
business any more than the secrets they’ve sold you over
the past 5 years... but they can count on you being a
creature of habit]

9. For their own reasons, spam*mers want email to survive too
so they can continue to harvest and sell names and addresses

So, basically, all these forces; government, gurus,
corporations and email harvesters want email to continue
along just as it has, each for their own reasons...

Money, Power and Control.

The only thing they all need to ease you into this new
mindset, this controlled, and expensive system is for you
to do "Nothing".

That's right.

You just keep holding on when all the signs tell you to
"let go", and they win.

Well kids, it seems the writing is on the wall and it's
pretty clear: "Email as we know it is dead... or dying."

So what's the solution? How can you get out of this mess
before your business and dreams die on the vine?

Number one is to "STOP being a creature of habit!"

and new problems they'll be facing in the very near future.
