Buy My Crap, Be Stress-Free!

Stress-Free Living... Really?
Trina L.C. Sonnenberg

Does having a lot of money guarantee one a stress-free life? If you believe the marketing emails and web pages that proliferate online, it would appear to be the case. At least that is what people all over are testifying. But, is finance freedom equal to stress free living? I really have to wonder.

I'm not going to tell you that I have all the answers, nor millions of dollars in the bank. I am a stay at home mom who makes money online by writing for others. I write about everything; from sales copy to web site content, political commentary to Internet marketing program reviews; I do a little of everything, but I am not one of those gurus who shouts to anyone who will listen -and there are many - that they hold the secret to making millions from home. I do read the sales copy I get emailed to me and I do click through to have a look at the site it links to. I am a skeptic, what can I say?

Reading all this copy, got me to thinking about a common thread in them all... Ridding one's life of stress through making insane amounts of money online.

Sure, these gurus are probably laughing all the way to the bank, but are they really stress-free? I wonder. Owning a huge sales business, with a sales force of affiliates, and products to create to sell, surely that produces a certain amount of stress, no matter how much money you have. Don't cha think? Being the 'Boss' carries with it a great many responsibilities. If you think that being the boss means that you answer to no one, you're mistaken. The boss answers to the employees. The boss has to keep them happy and productive; provide them with the tools they need to make the business grow, motivation for those put to the task of creating new products, etc.. I'd think that all of that responsibility would be stressful.

Having a lot of money comes with its own stressors. You've still got bills to pay, and probably more of them, not less. You've got appointments to keep with those who handle your money. People come out of the wood-work, looking for hand outs, and then there are taxes.

Outsourcing helps, but you still have to manage the people you outsourced to. No stress?

Yeah, right!

Having a lot of money equates more to living a comfortable lifestyle than to stress-free living. What really cracks me up is that these Internet made millionaires got to where they are and continue to stay where they are, selling John Q. Internetuser a bill of goods. "I'll tell you all my secrets if you pay me..."

What they should be saying is, Buy my crap; make me rich selling my stuff for me, and do what I do. But, that won't fill an ebook . Don't get me wrong about affiliate programs - I think they can be a great thing, actually. I promote several, but they are for things I truly believe in. It isn't a matter of making my money back to justify what I've spent. Many of the affiliate programs that I promote are not about making money online. They mainly are in the area of self-help products; stuff to make the quality of your life truly better, not through money, but through philospohy, attitude and outlook.

The real secret, and they demonstrate this to you personally, is just how to relieve you of your cash. They all have the same secrets, and little has changed over time, but people keep buying their junk. The funniest part of it, is that the person(s) making them rich could learn all their secrets just by reading their copy and copy catting it. Do what they do. Learn through their example, not their products. And, not only are people seduced into buying their stuff, but they're even easier to seduce into selling their stuff for them, as an affiliate.

You don't have to buy the guru stuff to learn how to make money online. You just need to read the copy they use, visit web sites and create something of your own to market in exactly the same way.

Will this de-stress your life? Not likely, but you'll make money. At the very least, you'll save a bunch of it.
