There is a serious problem in this country, as we all know, but what are we going to do about it? American born citizens are out of work and are competing for jobs with illegal aliens.
So let's look at why we are in competition with illegals. Some people say that it is because Americans do not want to do the jobs that illegals are willing to take. Why would this be? Could it be that illegals are willing to work for low wages, because even our lowest wage, is higher than they could hope for in their own country? Could it be that even our slums are better than the environment they are coming from? That is all one can afford for housing on the low wages paid to these people.
Americans, in my opinion, don't want these jobs because they know that they cannot support their families on the wages offered and would have to work two or three of these jobs to have the life they want for their children and themselves.
Corporations make money hand over fist, by employing these illegal aliens, and our government does nothing to discourage them from the practice. The government's lack of enforcement of existing immigration laws actually encourages corporations to seek out illegals for employment. This stimulates other economies, not our own. If tax payers truly knew how much American money gets sent back to countries of origin, they'd demand change. Illegals routinely work here and send hefty portion of their a pay home. That stimulates their economy, not ours.
Not only are we, as Americans, losing our income to illegals, but we are now being asked to speak their language in order to get jobs for ourselves. America is not a Spanish speaking nation. We are English speaking, and those who want to live here should learn the language to assimilate.
Our government wastes millions of dollars converting every piece of paper it puts out into multiple languages. Not just Spanish, but I've seen documents in more than five different languages. This is a waste of money, time and natural resources.
I say this: Round up every alien that has no documentation for being in this country and send them back to where they came from. The whole family too. There are so many who come here illegally and have children so that they can stay. This is wrong and should not be tolerated.
If someone is going to break our laws to enter this country, they have no place in our society. We already have enough criminals of our own; thank you very much. If someone is not willing to learn our language, they do not belong here.
If our country is so great that all these people come flocking here, shouldn't they be required to acclimate to our culture instead of forcing us to adapt to theirs?
If American businesses paid a livable wage, don't you think that more Americans would be self sustaining? Don't you think there would be fewer jobs available to illegal aliens, because Americans would be in those jobs?
This country does not need more people. So send the law breakers home. No Amnesty, of any kind. People who break the law are supposed to go to jail. At least that is the way I was raised. Being that our prison system is already over crowded, send them home. Deport all illegals and refuse them re-entry to this country. I have to wonder if we deported all of the aliens in our prison system if jail over-crowding would be at such a critical level. Why should Americans have to pay to support these people?
It is true that this country is a country of immigrants; however, the Irish, Italian and German immigrants that settled here more than a century ago, all learned the language and went through the naturalization process upon landing at Ellis Island. They worked hard at building their American Dream; they didn't expect the people to house, feed and educate them for nothing.
