Article marketing is nothing new any more, but still many don't quite grasp its power for promotion. Even more people lack the understanding of how important it is to have well written copy for article marketing to generate the outcome being sought.
To make article marketing work to its fullest potential, the content must be fresh and optimized for search engine spiders to crawl. The content needs to compel the reader to act, and it must also draw the reader into a position of trust.
Articles that demonstrate expertise on the subject will put the reader in an open state of mind, enabling them to trust the author, and be more inclined to take the desired action. Articles must provide information to the reader; information that is being sought by the reader, not a sales pitch. An article is not a solo ad.
Those who do not write well on their own should seek out a professional who does. This is an investment in the business, and a good one at that. Poorly written information is just as bad as no information at all. The object is to draw people in, not send them away laughing, or confused.
To provide useful information to a reader is like money in the bank. To solve a problem puts the author in the position of being a trusted information provider, and that should be the goal of writing the article. Once the author is viewed this way, the reader will return for more information.
Article marketing is powerful, but it is only as powerful as the author is compelling. Write it well, or spend the money to have someone else do it.
Mechanics fix cars for those who don't know how; accountants do bookkeeping for those who can't; writers write for those who don't have that skill. Hire out for the things that need doing, when there is no time or aptitude for going it alone.
Once the article is written it must be made available to the target market. The syndication of articles is the best bet for getting it out there, as well as submissions to article directories. There are many directories that accept submissions for free, and they are a good place to start. However, if the piece is written poorly, it may be rejected; another reason to make sure it is done right.
