New Year, New Focus, New Opportunities!

Tuesday, January 01, 2008
Happy New Year 2008!!!

With the new year, we have an opportunity to stay doing what you've always done, or you have an opportunity to start fresh.

...I choose - START FRESH!!!

... and, keep doing those things that WORKED WELL over the last year that make sense!

With that, I have promised to keep in touch with you better - making more 'blog' entries here with general 'goings-on' as well as useful info for your real estate investing business.

You'll have the option to comment on the posts - and I highly encourage you to do so - let's make this a spot to visit!

This year, I see real estate investing coming into some really big changes.

We'll see a rise 'back from the ashes' in some areas, while parts of the US will stay in the foreclosure cycle.

To make these changes work for you, there'll be a need to research the areas of the country that interest you to find deals that fit your investing style.

And, your 'style' will need to change if you are to get the BEST deals around - this is the only time in history that the market has provided such opportunity so no matter what 'style' you have enjoyed, THINGS ARE DIFFERENT NOW!

Of course, time will be the teller of the tale, however, I believe we are living in a time of fantastic investing opportunity and NOW is THE time to get into deals with CA$H - and there is a lot of it out there right now, being pulled from stocks and other investments.

Many people have lots of cash sitting in IRAs, 401Ks, etc. that can be used for investing, where you and your 'money partner' will benefit together. Try it!

So, what's going on in/around my life (other than investing, I mean...)?

Well, this morning we have quite a bit of ICE on the koi pond...

And, as well as fullfilling my plan to 'add more blog entries', I'm settling in to watch one of my favorite shows, "Monk" - on all day...

Of course, I've got other things that will be a part of my day - one tradition that I ALWAYS do is eat blackeyed peas - at least a spoonful on New Year's day (about the only 'superstition' I have - but, it is simple to keep because I LIKE blackeyed peas... ;)

So, what traditions do YOU celebrate on this day? Comment on this post and let's find out!

Happy New Year!

The New Year's Tradition of Black-Eyed Peas...

Black-eyed peas are suppossed to bring you good luck when eaten on New Year's Day...

We have always eaten a spoonful (at least) on New Year's Day for as long as I can remember...

Personally, I like them fried up with bacon bits (a receipe my Russian wife mad up herself to make them more tasty for herself, but I instantly made that MY receipe too!) but you can have them any way you like (seems like we've had them boiled more often than not...)

Where'd it come from? I have no idea! It is something that my family in Oklahoma has done for a long time.

In truth, though, I have yet to find anyone else that does it or knows about it, so it could have simply been something my Mom started because that was all we had in the house on that day one time..... (we weren't raised very wealthy... and sometimes 'Beans Again' was treated as a marvelous gift!)

Very intersting 'superstition' you have there regarding 'black-eyed peas'. It's one that I've never heard before. Would you care to share exactly what the supersition is?

I don't really have any 'traditions' or 'superstitions' to celebrate on New Years. I stopped making "new year's resolutions" years a go because I was never able to keep any of them. However, this year I feel things are going to be different. I'm going in a completely new direction, and am ready for some much needed change. I've been challenged to reach beyond where I've ever been before, and it's kind of exciting and scary at the same time.

I would love to hear other new year traditions / superstitions from other folks as well. It would be so neat to start getting some interaction going here.

I have been intending to try to stir up a Mastermind Group here, but decided it was probably best to start after all of the holidays. Well, now that the holidays are passed, I wonder if there might be some interest in a Mastermind Group?

Open to hearing / sharing ideas, thoughts, comments, insights, etc.

Looking forward with anticipation,

Debbie T.
