There has been a pattern of complaint lately!

I get a lot of email every day, unfortunately... because most of the people I subscribe to are still using that medium to communicate. There's been a pattern of complaint recently, and it goes something like this.

Guru says... email is a perfectly viable medium and...

I've made $X (large amount of money) using it to build my online business. People are using scare tactics to convince you that email is not working as a marketing tool (Guru says).

YES.... there was a time when email was an EXCELLENT marketing tool, but that time has passed, because the spammers have killed it.

Interestingly enough the people who are fighting this battle for email as a communication technology are the ones who have so much to loose. They usually promote programs that send email. They have huge mailing lists, so (simply) why would they say anything else. They've milked the cow to death and still want to keep milking it.
