Tiger Woods Blinked
I received this in my inbox today and thought it might be NOTE WORTHY!! It's from Fabio Marciano. See what you think:
Yesterday, an unknown golfer won the Masters,
one of the 4 major championships and a tournament
that has a lot of prestige and tradition.
The majors are where champions are born and
how people measure you as a golfer.
It's like the World Series or the SuperBowl.
You can have a great career as a ballplayer,
but if you haven't won a championship,
then the writers and fans point that fact out
as if that alone is a measure of how good you were...
Nonsense, but that's how it works.
I bring this up because the winner of the Masters
was someone we can all learn from and it's NOT
because he stared down Tiger Woods who I'm
sure you know.
Tiger's a 12-time Major winner.
Tiger's all everything and had the LEAD early in the
final round, but he didn't win as he normally does.
Zach Johnson won the MASTERS.
One of the reasons he won is tied to
a SUCCESS SECRET that has been around for ages.
He WORKED HARD, something infopreneurs fail to mention
in this age of "instant" this and "automatic" that.
You see, Zach shot a 76 on Saturday and wasn't happy.
So he decided to put some WORK in and practice on the
putting green after his round.
Zach hit putt after putt until 7:45 Saturday evening,
making him the last man standing at Augusta.
His caddie was cold and hungry and told Zach that it
was time to pack up.
Zach didn't waver.
"The work we're doing right now is going to
save me one stroke tomorrow," Johnson replied back.
Then he cursed at his caddie and promised that
the practice he was doing would help him win
the MASTERS.
You can imagine what his caddie thought at that moment...
"Yeah right, Tiger's in the hunt and we're going to win.
I'm cold and hungry, can't we just QUIT and call it a night."
Zach didn't quit.
He practiced longer than any other pro in the field
this weekend.
He practiced hard the night before, just like
he's been doing for years (years of practice and WORK).
Practicing all those days and nights for his
BIG MOMENT when he had the chance to SUCCEED
and make his DREAMS a reality.
In a press conference afterwards, someone asked him
what his "identity" was. He responded:
"I'm Zach Johnson and I'm from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
That's about it. I'm a normal guy."
No Zach, you're a MASTERS winner and someone we can
all learn from.
It takes WORK and PRACTICE to succeed in life.
Thank you for reminding all of us of that very FACT:
you have to WORK to achieve SUCCESS in life.
Have a GREAT day! God Bless YOU!
