Extending web site content using Qchannels...
| Thursday, February 05, 2004 |
Now Here's An Idea For A Content Rich Site.
Search Engines are in the business of ranking content. The better they rank content the more visitors they get and the more visitors they get the more paying advertisers they get. GOOGLE understand this and this is why it is the dominant Search Engine.
So, how can one use this information to get traffic to your site?
Qchannels are weblogs, and therefore they're spidered by search engine bots. In-context deep links (which means links to other sites from deep within your site) are given more brownie points than links directories and front page link exchanges.
So, what if (within the content on a page on your web site) you placed deep links to additional information (extend content) on that same topic?
And... what if that link took visitors from your web site to your Qchannel that focused on that topic, and that content was always changing?
And... what if your Qchannel on that topic was then back-linked to that content related page on your web site?
What would happen?
Theoretically you'd get S.E. brownie points for a) deep linking out from your site to valuable (external) content, and b) if you were disciplined and always kept the content in the related (link) Qchannel on-topic (e.g. kennethdoyle-affiliateprograms... kennethdoyle-copywriting) and back linked your (on-topic) Qchannel to your web site you'd get S.E. brownie points for links back in... all for providing valuable content for your visitors.
And, with Qchannels you can have as many channels as you like within one the account.
Interesting idea? Now, if you have thoughts about this strategy please comment.
