NEW ARRIVALS - FEBRUARY 2004 - Add a Touch of Romance!
Hi!
February is here and love is in the air! Hearts and flowers are great, but
there are other ways to set a romantic mood....

Candle light - Who doesn't love the soft, subtle glow of a flickering candle?
Even the reality shows on TV use candles to create a more inviting atmosphere. Here are a few
suggestions:
- Place a candle or two in each room. Add a live plant, cut flowers in a simple vase or silk flowers placed safely away
from the candles.
- Place lighted candle lamps atop your entertainment center, in the foyer, on your vanity or on your side table.
- Create a private nook indoors or outdoors by using a candle screen to declare your private space.
- Set a romantic table by placing a candle lamp, multiple-candle votive holder, hurricane lamp or floating candles
in a wax or glass bowl atop a soft pastel or white lace tablecloth. Double up two different colored table cloths for
a more formal look.
- Wall sconces create a soft glow around the edges of your livingroom or family room and keep the flame
away from tiny hands. Turn down the lights and let the candles outline your private "dance floor".

Waterfalls -- Okay, so you can't bring a waterfall into your house, but what about a fountain?
The sound of trickling water helps to soothe the soul and calm frayed nerves.
Fountains come in all shapes and sizes, and there are models appropriate for indoor or outdoor use.
Here are a few possibilities:

Place a small fountain on your sofa table or even use one as a centerpiece on your dining table.
- A larger free-standing fountain can be used in your foyer, diningroom, bedroom, sunroom or on your patio.
- A serenity water chime is a great choice to help worries trickle away.
- For a more romantic touch, float some rose petals or daisy petals in the fountain.
- Add a light fragrance, like a body mist, for a scent-ual experience
- Add dry ice to your fountain for a touch of "mist"-ery.
- Add some sparkle by adding floating candles to a larger fountain.

No time for the spa? Give that someone special a spa set for an at-home spa experience.
Spa set contents range from soaps, candles, bath mitts, sponges, scrubbies, eye masks, bath pillows,
massage oils and more. Set the stage by setting up the spa set and drawing a warm bath for the recipient.
Add some rose petals to the water and soft background music for a super romantic setting.
A glass of wine, champagne or even a warm cup of herbal tea will help wash worries away!

Shabby chic is all the rage these days. White painted metal or wood decorator items, such as
shelves, mirrors, candle holders, sconces and even magazine racks have a special finish to make
them look well-loved. The soft white, with just a touch of roughing up, add a soft, romantic touch
to your country or Victorian decor.

For the outdoorsy type, wind chimes are another great way to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Chimes range from the tinkle of tiny little bells to
the rich, warm tones of tubular metal and wood. Add a hammock or hammock chair hung from
the branches of a big oak tree or from a cedar frame. You can even use hammocks indoors
for a unique touch - especially on your porch or in your sunroom.
These are just a few suggestions for adding some romance to your surroundings.
