"What does MCTMG mean?" I hear you ask

As mentioned in my first post for the year "Songwriting News - Welcome To 2007!!" I outlined some of the exciting things that were happening for me and my blogs for this year.

One of those things is my involvement with Jerry Brower and his company - Music City Talent Marketing Group (or MCTMG for short) based in Nashville, Tennessee.

MCTMG have a number of innovative ways to promote talented singer songwriters and artists to the 'right' people and I am very excited to be involved with these innovations.

First of all they have an online auditioning system that is doing for the internet what 'American Idol' and 'Australian Idol' have done for television.

I will be spreading the word of this concept in Australia and hopefully we can get some homegrown talent noticed.

I have been invited to put together some songwriting workshops for MCTMG. This has been something that I have wanted to do for a while because the online workshops are a natural extention of the information that I am providing to you through my blogs.

Stay tuned on this one. They are in development at the moment.

MCTMG have their own radio station (MCTMG Radio) on the Live365 network. I am putting together a 2 hour radio show with a working title of "Songwriting Down Under". The show is going to be launched in the USA on Saturday March 3rd from 5pm (CST) and in Australia from Sunday March 4th from 11:30am (AEST).

I am looking forward to working more closely with Jerry and his team to provide real and tangible opportunities for songwriters in Australia and to enable Australian songwriting as a whole to be taken much more seriously.

We have some great songwriting talent in Australia. Let get them out on the world stage, where they belong.
