Social Networking Communities and your home business

Saturday, January 06, 2007

Marketing tips today.   Using ISP's blogging platforms for your business.

How to you use social networking communities

1.  Build your network of friends and associates

2.  Not a place to spam

3.  Do what you like to do

Yahoo 360 is great when it comes to boosting your SEO in yahoo search engines.  The ability to pull feeds into out pages is a great feature.  So if you have a wordpress, blogspot, or whatever blogging platform you use, you pull that feed into your 360, which will increase your link popularity.

Another feature I like is local review.  This also helps with warm market because if you go to a restaurant or store close to you, and write a review about it, instead of just your yahoo profile, your 360 will be linked to that review.  You have to really explore 360 and understand the power of RSS feeds and features you have.

I also like to stream my podcast in my 360 blast.

When you have blogging platforms and other tools from specific ISP's like yahoo 360, MSN space, AOL journals, etc.. every one of them are just getting input from you.  What you like, what you don't like, your favorite places, your bookmarks, etc.. so that's why, when it comes to their search engines, they based alot of the rankings on what we input into them.. besides just the search terms.  Remember the search engines just go by clicks and popularity.. they don't care who you are.  So if you have a popular blog about autism, whatever links you post about autism, and going to seems more relavant to the keywords, then just the websites themselves, because it's what people want from you, and you are a popular resource about autism.

I hope I'm explaining this right.  See.. I like yahoo.. so alot of my leads I get for weight loss, or any of my pages comes from yahoo emails and sbcglobal email accounts, because yahoo sees me as being the person that's all about working at home.. etc.

But if I give a little more attention to my MSN space, then I would rank higher there.  Same goes for AOL journals.. (which i need to get back into again)  It all depends where you want your traffic to come from.  But you can't be super woman.  I have waaaay to many blogs.. I can't keep up with my MSN and AOL ones.   Now google's getting into the swing of things which is why many are running to their services like gmail, google groups, etc.. because they know it will boost their rankings, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE VERY INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY.  just making pages and leaving them high dry, will not cut it.

I haven't used my geocities account in a long time but I still use my yahoo 360 alot because I like blogging. So, what
I didn't know was.. geocities will let you make your yahoo 360 your own website with templates. I think that's a very cool
feature.
Here is my yahoo 360

Then, see how I added it to my geocities as my own site.

Now, they also have great html editors and such as well. I will look into the google pages. I need to
explore google alot more, since I'm still getting use to it with my gmail accounts and their web analysis feature.
