Back linking content from your web site...
| Tuesday, January 27, 2004 |

Web sites [by their nature] are static things. Qchannels [by their nature] are fluid things.
Search Engines make their money by giving their visitors fresh, relevant content. The more relevant the content, the more visitors the SE's get... and thus the more $'s for the SE's.
Now, here's an idea that will help you reap a harvest from the SE's, drive traffic to your web site, drive traffic to your Qchannel, and back again... [con't]
Back linking content from your web site to your Qchannel...
Here's what you do.
Web site to topic-focused Qchannel: Let's say you've got a page on your web site about viral eBooks. You cannot possibly say all there is to say about viral ebooks on one web page, so... put a Qchannel link within the content [and context] on that page and link through to it.
Interested visitors will click through to your Qchannel and (assuming they like the content you've got on it) they'll subscribe to the Qchannel.
Added bonus: Your Qchannel traffic stats will indentify the number of people reading the content, so your Qchannel acts as an electronic surveying system which gives you invaluable information on lucrative topics which can be turned into eproducts later.
Topic focused Qchannel to web site: Now, we want to work the traffic from both ends of the stick here (so to speak). Here's what you do. Within the content of each of your Qchannel posts you're going to include your web site URL.
In this instance I'll include mine... www.feedyourhungrymind.com. Now, be sure you direct the Qchannel traffic through to a page on your site that has a NAV bar on it so visitors can easily navigate through your site.
Added bonus: SE's give extra brownie points for what are called *deep* links. A deep link is a link to another (theme related) site (URL) from within your web site. In this instance the deep link is from YOU to YOU.
Now, if people like what you've written in your Qchannel item/s and then link to it/them you now have *deep* link/s from other URL/s back to YOUR Qchannel, which then links back to YOUR web site.
And... all of these benefits are gained simply by providing quality content via your topic-focused Qchannel, and linking between your topic-focused Qchannel and your web site.

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment, I'm pleased you can see the 'power' of these backlinking/ cross linking strategies.
They're always about giving the search engines what they want 'paths' to 'within-theme and related content'.
However, you missed one part... you could have back-linked from your own comment here to your own (related) web site or a page on your own web site.
I always leave the back-links up on my Qchannel comments whenever people contribute to the topic in a meaningful way, as follows... :-) (notice my own back-link?)
