Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

You see this message often while surfing the traffic exchanges. What is bandwidth, and how does it put a limit on the viewing of your website?

Much as we like to think of the Internet as this amorphous wonder that brings the world closer together, it does have a structure and it does have limitations. Bandwidth is a measure of data transfer. The more bandwidth that is available, the more data that can be transferred. Viewing a webpage is a transfer of data. Downloading a file is a transfer of data. Any traffic to a website is a transfer of data, so the more traffic you send to your site, the more bandwidth that is needed for your site to be shown.

Web hosting packages come with varying amounts of bandwidth. Bandwidth is usually allotted by the month. Going over your bandwidth limit will result in your url showing that dreaded Bandwidth Limit Exceeded message, instead of your web page. You can contact your host server and have more bandwidth added, but this will result in an extra fee for that month.

If you use traffic exchanges, and have your own hosted domain, you surely will be driving as much traffic as possible to your domain. Be sure that you have plenty of bandwidth to show your site throughout the month.

Assign Impressions to Your Banners
We may have automated the assignment of credits to your campaigns, but you still have to assign impressions to your banners. Your banners will not be rotated unless you assign impressions to them! Click on the Banners icon to the right of your campaign list to assign impressions. If you are out of banner impressions, you may also convert credits to banner impressions for assignment.

Surf Wednesdays and Increase Your Focus (Points)
Collect up to 15 Focus Loyalty Points for every 45 campaigns that you view at Nexus Exchange on Wednesdays. The actual number of points will change throughout the day, but it will not be less than 10 points per 45 campaigns. There will be NO LIMIT to number of Focus Points that you can collect.
