Blogs as Static Ads: Don't Do It
Eva J. Mah
Owner/Admin, Nexus Exchange
Web logs, or blogs, are like the ultimate Internet tool for the computer illiterate. You can establish a web presence without any special computer knowledge. Simply join a free blog service, pick a template, and start writing. Just be yourself, and you are on your way.
Blogs are one of the quickest ways to get your word out to the Internet public. Search engine spiders seem to love to index them making them much easier to find. Blogs are akin to online journals. They attract search engine spiders because of the frequent updating that occurs on them. Without those frequent updates, the sites may as well not exist as far as search engine spiders are concerned. At
Nexus Exchange, we often receive blog submissions for rotation approval. Many of the blogs we receive have a single post that is basically an ad for a business opportunity. Traffic exchanges can increase the flow of traffic to any web site in rotation which can help with rankings, but that traffic is useless without the indexing by search engine spiders.
A blog can be an excellent promotional tool for yourself or your business, but only if used appropriately. Use blog space wisely. Focus your blog on a niche. Create an interactive site by posting often and encouraging comments. By doing these things, not only will you build yourself a reputation, but you will develop a long-term relationship with your readers and the search engine spiders.

THROUGH THE EYES OF Nexus Exchange
Jon Olson Strikes Back!
In our last issue, we talked about the Hit Exchange News Top Ten List controversy. Last week's Hit Exchange News made a comment about Traffic Exchange List consistently ranking StartXchange as number one, the comment being that Tim Linden owns both Traffic Exchange List and StartXchange. Now, Tim has a perfectly logical and legitimate explanation for it, but we say good on Jon for bringing it up.
Understandably, everyone wants to use the best tools for their business, and we turn to the experts for their opinions. But what works for Jon Olson or Tim Linden will not necessarily work for you. The success of a business depends on several variables. Unless you have the exact same work habits and budget resources, and are promoting the exact same product or service, you are comparing apples and oranges. Ranking lists should be used as a guide. Track all of your advertising efforts to figure out the best plan for you and your business.
Michel Lavergne Wow you have a bucket of info. I would say old newbies shall enjoy visiting with you.
