We attended the second annual Internet Marketing Main Event (TIMME II) last month in Baltimore with great expectations of making important contacts and big business deals. What we came away with was much more valuable. We heard something that every person on earth should hear. And we heard it during the very first presentation.

Rich Schfren, mentor to Internet Marketing giants such as Mike Filsaime, explained something vital to the conference attendees. In order to be successful at something, you must have three key ingredients: innate ability, experience, and skill. He used Michael Jordan as an example. On the basketball court, Michael Jordan has no equal. On the baseball field, Michael Jordan is competitive, but not a star. Michael Jordan is a natural athlete, but his experience and skill is in basketball, not baseball. Although the desire is there, Michael Jordan will not be a star baseball player.

The overall message of the presentation is that one person cannot effectively do everything for a business and have that business thrive and grow.

We came away with this revelation: even between the two of us, we do not have all the talents and skills needed to grow a business. Neither one of us are marketers. We have done decently, but our projects have so much more potential that we cannot tap into because of our lack of marketing experience.

Although it has always been in our business plan, we now understand the absolute necessity of outsourcing as our budget allows. Just because we may not have the money now to hire professional ad copy writers or web designers, that doesn't mean that we never will. If we plan for it, we will have it. Don't let current restraints define your future. Expect growth, plan for it, and guess what. It will happen.

Bonus page error message
We had a hiccup in the system recently that allowed Eva to screw up the bonus page. Our programmer has fixed the problem with the page (The problems with Eva require extensive professional help). You may again collect bonus advertising credits, banner impressions, and Focus loyalty points with every 45 sites that you view on Nexus Exchange.

New Features on Nexus Exchange
Advertising credits are now automatically assigned to your campaigns. All credits earned from viewing campaigns now go directly into your credit storage. All of your earned credits go toward showing any of your approved campaigns. Currently, we don't have a pause option for individual campaigns, but we do plan to add that function in the future. For the time being, simply delete any campaign that you do not want to rotate in Nexus Exchange.

No need to wait for campaign approval to earn credits anymore. You may choose the "yes" icon, even if it says "Awaiting Approval" to start viewing campaigns for credits.

New Tutorial

THROUGH THE EYES OF Nexus Exchange


The Hit Exchange News Top Ten List is stirring up another round of controversy. That Jon Olson, makes a name for himself and then has the nerve to express his opinion. Here is our two cents worth on the subject.

We spend good money with Jon Olson. We use Doctor Traffic as part of our promotional efforts for Nexus Exchange. Both Aaron and Eva are upgraded members of ILoveHits, and we buy credits monthly there as well. We have paid Jon Olson to make splash pages for us. We have even met Jon in person on several occasions. In Baltimore last month, we talked business with him, watched football with him, drank beer with him, and shared meals with him. But has Jon Olson ever helped us out by putting Nexus Exchange in the HEN Top Ten? Oh hell no. What gives?

Nexus Exchange is not in the HEN Top Ten List simply because it doesn't deserve to be ... yet! Our goal is to meet every single one of Jon Olson's criteria for ranking in his Top Ten List. But you can still find us in HEN. We get ourselves in there the old fashioned way -- we buy ad space.

One billion plus. They must have visited the Nexus. My next visit to California Have to ask them why they borrowed the Nexus theme (honest simplicity and Unique).
