Marketing On The Internet? NEVER Use These DUMB Marketing 'Strategies'!
| Sunday, October 08, 2006 |
Every day I get nonsense and junk sent to me from Internet "marketers".
I get junk in my Email Inbox (irrespective of how many filters I put in place), so that email has virtually become a useless tool that now INVADES my personal space and it just costs me unneccessary time to wade through the junk to find anything that's meaningful to me... and I RESENT it. And, I get junk from automated programs filling in forms on my web sites about offers that have NOTHING to do with my business, and in most cases nothing to do with any of my personal interests or needs... and I RESENT it.
These practices have NOTHING to do with marketing. There is a much BETTER way! ...
Now, because I track everything I know that these two images (below) are form results from one of my web sites. These are people attempting to market something to me..
What's wrong with these two "strategies" (as above)? Well...
-
The "marketer" has INVADED my personal space. I won't buy from them whatever it is they're selling, EVER!
-
There is NO "PATH" to whatever it is that they're selling, so in the completely remote possibility that I "might" be interested in whatever it is that they have to sell I CAN'T GET TO THE "OFFER" EASILY TO BUY FROM THEM.
-
There is NO offer that has ANY meaning to me, whatsoever. NO ONE likes to be "sold".
-
There is NO RELATIONSHIP BUILDING strategy in this approach. The web can be a scary place for most people. People need to know and trust you before they will buy anything from you. This is Internet marketing strategy 101.
There are two possibilities here, being a) These folk don't know what they're doing, and thus they'll continue running "squirrel in a cage" strategies until they go broke, end up on medication, or both OR... b) They do know what they're doing and are therefore using an automated form submitting program, which tells me that they DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ME AS A PERSON and therefore why would I want to buy anything from this type of selfish personality anyway?
There is a BETTER way which does NOT use email, nor any automated submission nonsense.
- It markets you to a theme-focused, target group (who give you permission to market to them).
- It NEVER invades your space, which is a major cultural "no, no".
- It builds your business relationships, so that you build a BUSINESS.
- It comes with inbuilt SEO power, so your offers are found all over the web by the RIGHT people, forever.
- It enables you to create and use multimedia "paths" (which are the future of marketing on the Internet)
- It's connected to LIVE web conferences on a multitude of topics, which you can safely access right from your very own computer desktop.
- It facilitates INSTANT, safe, secure, non-email based communication right from your computer desktop for your every day communication needs.
If you're reading this article then you're already looking at the SEO aspect of this powerhouse technology right now.
To utilize this SEO power for yourself you want to become a publisher on this system, and be trained by a Qmaster (such as myself). However - in the interim - if you're interested in learning more Internet marketing power techniques, then...

In order to upgrade my DeskView, I have to activate my PayPal account which is something I don't really care to do.
I'm a little old fashioned I guess in that I have not bought into online banking yet. If I'm going to make a deposit into the bank, I like to go to the bank and do it or mail it to my bank. To make a withdrawal, I either write a check or go to the bank as well!
Is there another way besides PayPal to upgrade?
Yours truly,

P.S. PayPal insists on having access to my bank account to make deposits and withdrawals. I have nothing more against PayPal.

Yes, I agree with your comments. There's another way you could also put it, "people attract who 'they' are".
If people are lazy and greedy then they get suckered in by other lazy and greedy people.
It continually amazes me just how much effort people are prepared to put into something that's free or cheap (especting miraculous results)... rather than just go do the work.

So I guess you're one of the smart ones who has decided to guard what you eat from the net. That is a good for you.
None the less, internet marketing is really not targeted to users like you and me, they are more toward the internet illiterate who do not have the concepts to understand that they are being bombarded by marketers (unscrupulous ones).
The more gullible a person the easier the sale becomes. It is a sad fact and one that is really being manipulated by hungry marketers world wide.
My 2cents worth. Thank you.

No, I didn't say that email marketing was dead. I said this stuff doesn't work.
Clearly email has got major problems, but it "ain't" going to go away... as it's embedded in the very infrastructure of the web (Paypal for example).
There are many people still building email lists and marketing that way, and fractured as that strategy may be... it still works for some folk.
What I'm saying here is that automated submission "marketing" and mindlessly submitting to everything doesn't work.
SPAM email can be included as an automated submission "strategy", and it's this "strategy" that does not work (athough clearly there's some margin in this because people keep doing it).
In essence, if you're involved in "blasting" anything, anywhere there's an element of "sqirrel in a cage" in this. The reason people do this stuff is because they're lazy, they're greedy and they don't give a DAMN about anyone else's needs.

Nice article as usual Ken...
No reputable online marketer uses tricks or tactics... only credible, reliable relationship building techniques are needed to be successful online.
