(Phoenix, Ariz. – May 24, 2006) In the wake of consumer complaints, regarding false income claims, the Arizona Attorney General's Office has ruled against the personal development marketing company, Liberty League International, in a case of consumer fraud.
According to the complaint filed in Maricopa County Superior Court, the company lured consumers into spending large sums of money (from $1,495 to $12,995 per person), promising substantial returns, if they promoted and used their personal development products and recruited new participants to the program. However, participants did not generate the commissions promised. In fact, most people did not even recover their initial investment.
According to consumer letters received by MLM Watch Dog, one man was taken for $63,000.00, a blind couple was pressed to mortgage their home so they could invest $40,000.00, and a single mother was scammed out of $23,000.00.
Liberty League International and its principles, Brent Payne and Shane Krider, have been ordered to pay $115,000.00 to cover the costs for attorney and investigation fees, and to provide consumer education regarding MLM scams. Victim restitution has not yet been established, but will be forthcoming.
They have also been ordered to:
Apparently, LLI has taken to heart, this court order. After reviewing their web site, they have implemented all of the income disclaimers possible. They also have included a statement saying that none of the testimonials have been paid for by the company. I wonder why they felt it necessary to make that claim?
It is not very easy to get detailed information about the program. They not only have omitted income claims in their copy, but it seems as though the only way to get any real information at all is to join first. There is information on the products, but no pricing is visible.
There are plenty of testimonials on the site as well as a nice sized list of extras that should be purchased for business operation. For example: If you want to take part in the conference calls, which they say is essential to success with the program, you have to pay LLI $33/month, which they graciously bill quarterly, for $99.00. (This is the only company that I have ever heard of that charges members to participate in conference calls, outside of normal long distance charges.)
In light of the recent action by the Arizona Attorney General, I wonder what the future holds for Liberty League. Will people continue to throw their money away, or will LLI go under?
This reporter's recommendation: Look, but don't touch.

An Authentic Review of LLI:
http://libertyleagueinterna...
Internet is filled with negative hype and here is another one of them...
I bet that not one person who is writing negative articles about LLI is an authority on home businesses or been successful at it in any way.
Cry babies fill the internet.
Paid a fee? So what? Microsoft, McDonald, the US Government and virtually every major company has been sued and settled to pay a fee... does it mean they are scams?
By the way, LLI had the best month last month, with more people joining and having more success than ever before...
It is impossible for a scam to be operating for such a long time and create success for anyone who is serious.
BTW, the 36 Attorney Generals have concluded that most of the negative hype against LLI and other companies are created by people who are fabricating stories and they are doing their own due diligence in shutting these sites down... fake news deserve to come to an end.
The truth may delay but will always win.
Numbers and Facts speak for themselves...
Peace out!

Liberty League sells self-help materials at a ridiculous price. They are not a travel business.
I'm glad I did my research and the only thing I invested with these people was maybe a total hour's worth of my time (which in my opinion is one hour too long!)
How can these people live with themselves knowing they've scammed so many?
I can't believe the "recruiter" had the nerve to call me back after I hung up during the conference call and tried to convince me that everything I've been reading is false! Sorry, but thousands of people companining, including 57 complaints with the BBB can't be wrong!
Over the years I have talked with thousands of people who are looking for a home based business or who were currently involved in one.
The most consistent trends have been that the only people that succeed are most likely to have been able to succeed due to the person or group of persons they got involved with.
The fact is that most of the HB opportunities either fall short of a few different critical components or all of them all together. If you are looking for an opportunity then make sure that it has a few of the following critical criteria before joining.
1. That there is a real product in place that is marketable outside of just the opportunity to make money.
2. Make sure that the person or people you are joining have a proven track record.
3. Make sure that there is no negativity attached to the opportunity you are looking at.
4. Make sure that the people you will be working with have real & up to date marketing resources & strategies.
5. Make sure that the person you are joining can prove that they are helping their team members with sales and marketing supports.
6. Make sure that you are not just joining an individual based off their income claims (HYPE) Why? Because it is not duplicateable. Meaning, how will you be able to do what they are doing & recruit people when you are new to a business & you have not made any money yet. The majority of the people signing people up based off personal income claims have close to zero duplication happing because of this.
To Your Success!

What is it all about I surely don't get what liberty league is about except paying for resorts?
There appear to be two kinds of companies in the home business industry: Those who have issues but resolve them and move on....and those who get shut down.
Liberty League is obviously in the first category since the Attorney General settled with them. (Scams aren't allowed to stay open). Unlike, say, PAS which was shut down on the same day that the ATTorney General filed a complaint.
Liberty League offers a legitimate product to a legitimate market. Plain as that.
I was contacted by Liberty League in my search for a home based business. This program looked very similar to a famous scam MLM in the 1990's called Global Prosperity Group. Thanks for your article on the founders. Not Joining, Matthew Fischer
Great article. I edit a web based small business television channel and magazine in Australia - 'I'm Boss TV'.
There are some great articles and TV segments on marketing ethics. Feel free to take a look and send through any feedback.

And feel free to submit any articles for consideration across any of the categories. We're always looking for content and contributors from around the globe.
