Are Traffic Exchange Owners Part of an 'Evil Empire'?

Did I get your attention? If you listen to some surfers in conferences and other means of communications, one would think there is a conspicy to provide bad customer service to surfers. Now the 'rest of the story'....
I hear much dissatifaction with many traffic exchange owners. Statements like: "They never listen." "They won't answer the email I sent." "They never improve their exchange to include ___________." [you fill in the blank]. I always ask this simple question: When was the last time you responded to a request from an exchange owner for things you would like to see in the their exchange?

You see, I also communicate with exchange owners. Many owners receive few if any responses from their requests for input from surfers. Surfers sit on their hands when given the chance to question an owner in a conference. When an owner asks a questions, how about giving them some input. Even if you do not have any input, send them a reply thanking them for asking. Seems like a simple thing to do.

If you have not received an answer to a legitimate support request, have you ever thought maybe they did not receive it. Do you receive all of your email.....probably not. I know I do not. Have you allowed enough time for an answer? There are some who get their dandruff up if an answer is not received in a couple of hours. Many of these exchange owners are just like you....they have offline employment. If you really cannot get a hold of them, do a 'Whois.com/ lookup and see if there is not a phone number.

Another point...have you looked at the FAQ page to see if your question is answered? Many surfer have never looked at a FAQ [frequently asked questions] or TOS [terms of service] of an exchange, yet complain if a url is denied when it clearly violates the TOS. Actually there are surfer who have never clcked the links in an exchange to see what it has to offer.

What was your approach in seeking information? Was it an attack mode? Did you use abusive language you wouldn't say in front of your Mother? This is the approach of some and they wonder why they get no response. It is always helpful if you approach a request with a level head. I always recommend that after you write your request.....read it one more time to to check the tone.

Yes, there are good and bad exchange owners just like there are good and bad surfers.

Most owners want to do a good job of running their exchange. My two cents......

Why do I include the Traffic Exchanges Updates and Tips information? Many of us do not even read the information in 'admin' emails from exchange owners. Here is my consolidated list of those worth sharing:

*AdvertisingKnowHow - Another reminder! Robert Puddy is offering a $100 reward for anyone who makes both the top ten surfers and referral list. Contest ends May 30th

*CarnivalClicks - Steve Ayling added some new splash pages for its members.

*NewYorkTrafficExchange - Chris is moving NYTRAFEX to a new server the first of June because heavier than expected activity. With a large increase in complaints about frame breaking pages. Each weekend from now on Chris will be surfing 24 hours from an administrative connection and all frame breaking pages will be immediately suspended. Starting May 25 Chris will begin running a scanning bot that will search all sites for words that indicate problem content. Sites found by these scans will be manually reviewed by management before action is taken. On June 1 Chris will begin running a page bot that will automatically scan for frame breakers and suspend them.

*Nexus - Aaron Peavey and Eva Mah WILL be raising the prices for upgrades on JUNE 1, 2006. Upgrade before June 1 and lock in their current price for the life of your upgrade.

*ProTrafficShop - Dan Moses and Jon Olson have lowered all credit prices across the board.

*StartXchange - says "If you were having problems updating your email address on StartXchange, well the problem has been fixed. Sorry for any inconveniences, and thanks to the members who reported it to me." See...some owners do listen.

*TrafficSoldiers - Pat Lovel raised the amount of credits that monthly upgraded members receive. You can see the new amounts on the upgrade page. Each membership was nearly doubled!! If you are upgraded you will receive your new credit bonus on the first of June, if you upgrade now, you will receive the new amounts now.

*TrafficSurfer - Austin Hallock advised me that he has no limit on a minimum payout of commissions.

Tony's Tips:

1. Are you a speed surfer? Racing through as many traffic exchanges as fast as you can?

Do not forget the basis for traffic exchanges. I view your page and you review my page. It's this simple principle that has made traffic exchanges an effective advertising venue for the past 7 years.

5. Are sales pages, affiliate links, long winded referral pages effective in traffic exchanges?

The simple answer is NO! You are better off using simple, hard hitting splash pages. You only have a few seconds to grab the attention of a surfer. Add your photo, name and some form of contact to brand yourself.

I am offering you, my subscribers, access to Tony Tezak's Traffic Co-op. This traffic coop is limited to people who are on my 1st level in any program/traffic exchange.

The coop will deliver 3000 visitors per month with a uniqueness of not less than 65%! Every effort will be made to hit the 3,000 target every month. So far in its 4 month existence, it has delivered 3100-3200 hits per month. I will keep purchasing credits until these goals are met every month.

On a 1:1 ratio traffic exchange with a 20 second timer, it would take you 16 hours to earn 3000 credits. How much is 16 hours of sufing worth to you? I'll deliver these visitors to you for a $19.99 monthly subscription or $25.00 for a single month purchase.

This week I added a GUARANTEE; If I do not provide you the 3000 hits in a given month, I will refund you $19.99.

Visit Tony Tezak's Traffic Co-op for the full details.

http://boostmystats.com offers bonus abuse pages so that sites actually get looked at.

They give out more credits than any exchange I have seen.
