"You gotta know where you're going if you wanna know where you've been."
I stumbled across an article by Nadine Condon (the 'Godmother of Rock') answering a question about timelines and how they can help a fledgling band. I thought that this would fit in very well with the 'Indie Music Band' series of articles that I have been doing.
What do you think?
Essentially putting together a timeline and setting some goals are pretty much the same. However, from reading the article though the goal ("putting a band together") is the end result of the series of steps needed to achieve it (the timeline).
You can use this concept for achieving any goal that you as an indie music artist (or as part of an indie music band) want to achieve. It's embracing the fact that every goal is made up of many smaller steps or events.
Another good thing that the article mentions is that it recommends that you divide your timeline into three monthly increments. By doing this you are able to keep track of the progress of the goal a lot more effectively.
As I mentioned earlier I thought that the article fitted in nicely with the theme of 'how to start a band' so have a read and if you want to comment on it please feel free to let me know
