Semmy Stumpp, one of the Q Publishers, has been on me for weeks to review his "
Lottery Scam Report". Frankly, my time has been really tight lately, I didn't want to read it. But I did.
I have to admit that I do buy an occasional lottery ticket here and there. Typically when the jackpot is one of those $200M plus ones, like the person in Idaho just won. I don't expect to win, but do enjoy dreaming about what I'd do with it if I did. What I've never consider nor know little about is what is happening with lotteries outside of the U.S. Semmy's report opened my eyes and also revealed a dark side to international lotteries. It's not the lotteries themselves, but the scammers looking to prey on lottery winner wannabes.
I personally do not receive any scam letters of this sort, but I believe that there are many prospects for these in countries which provide this gambling vehicle. Semmy's report is well worth reading by anyone that receives emails notifying them of their winnings (or the potential for them). Semmy provides some other great links in this report to other anti-scam sites, which makes the $10.00 he charges for this report well worth it. I've written about the Nigerian scam several times, Semmy's give even more background on this common scam. AND, if you don't follow the link in this report and read Annie McGuire's story about her dealings with the HYIP dark side, you're asking to be a victim one day. Even the professional and successfull can fall victim to the scammer's lies.
