Hey Friends! Are you curious about homeopathic remedies? What about using them in conjunction with Essential Oils? My dear friend and partner at All God's Creatures, Kim Bloomer wrote a great article I want to share today! BTW, Don't forget our FREE class tonight with Dr Elliot for even more information on using homeopathy in emergencies! SIGN UP HERE |
I wanted to continue on a bit more with the subject of homeopathy since it came up quite a bit in this last week and not just because Dr. Jill Elliot, DVM, is continuing into Part II of Acute Homeopathic Remedies for Pets in her class this week.
The subject came up in our natural horse and pet care group this morning, and then again last week when a supplier found me! That was cool!
Last week Dr. Jill Elliot taught a class in our All God's Creatures Educational Seminars as I stated previously. I took a lot of notes and anticipate doing the same this week as she's going to go deeper into things like burns, cuts, etc. Just an fyi, in case you didn't read the announcement, she'll be teaching at 9PM EST this Thursday, April 21. Go to the website above to get all the details.
What I found really interesting were two things:
1. How quickly the remedies can reverse a situation, even an emergency situation. So as you're giving these remedies every 2 - 3 minutes or every 10 minutes (depending on the emergency and remedy), by the time you get to the veterinarian's office or emergency care hospital, your pet could already be in reversal and getting well!!
2. How many of the conventional medicine vets think it's all hogwash and won't recognize it. Rrrrrrr, that is another thing that really ticks me off about mainstream medicine. Oh, let's not get me started, so I'll just continue...
What is cool about Dr. Elliot is she can laugh at that since she started out in conventional medicine and she KNOWS the truth and the facts. So it is with great assurance that I can recommend her to you as a homeopathic/holistic veterinarian. She is in the Manhattan, NY area. So, please keep her in mind if you're there. Her website is Happy Tails Vet
Another cool thing about homeopathy is that if you're using a remedy and not getting a response from your pet, you can then start on another remedy. Also, you don't have to worry about overdosing like you do with conventional medicines. That is a big problem these days. I just love those pharmaceutical commercials, don't you? "To stop diarrhea just take THIS...Side effects may include diarrhea, headache, abdominal pain, & vomiting" LOLOLOL So, my question would be, then WHY use it in the first place to STOP diarrhea if it is going to CAUSE diarrhea??? LOL!
Uh-oh, I'm going off on a tangent. Sorry. Back to subject. So this morning in our natural pet care group there was a question posed about a wound in a horse that isn't healing even though she has been doing everything right. One universal answer was the Calendula Ointment and some homeopathic remedies which she was doing.
So if one thing doesn't work, you certainly want to go to the next modality. The reason being that since antibiotics have been greatly overused, the bacteria and viruses are mutating and very resistant these days. So, along with these homeopathic remedies the one thing that probably could heal this wound would be the therapeutic grade essential oils. One person said to not mix homeopathic remedies with the therapeutic grade essential oils while the other person countered with an explanation of why it's okay. So, let me share in a nutshell what they all said.
First these newer strains of "superbugs" are VERY difficult to kill since they are mutated. Many of us "oilers" (Young Living Oilers) have found that both the Thieves Oil and the Oregano Oil combined are the ones that can really get rid of these bugs. Dr. Jean Claude Lapraz, MD in 1985 did a test using oregano oil and cinnamon oil (one of the major oils in Thieves) and found that not ONE SINGLE bacteria or virus could live in the PRESENCE of the oils. Can you imagine direct contact with an oil like this on a superbug?? ZAP those buggers!
The only drawback is these are what we call "hot" oils so you wouldn't want to put them directly into a wound without diluting it with a mixing oil such as V6 or olive oil. A horse might get mighty upset with you if you put a hot oil directly into an open, not healing wound! OUCH!
Dr. Gary Young said that the Young Living Oregano oil can DECIMATE flesh-eating bacteria. Now since I've been talking here a bit about the superbug MRSA, I'm sure this resistant strain could be zapped too. It remains to be proven but I would certainly add the Oregano and Thieves to my arsenal and in fact have of course. So what does this have to do with homeopathy and the oils. Well I saved that for last!
One more thing, for these superbugs, applying the oils topically alone is great, but taking them internally might even be better. Keep in mind I am ONLY referring to the YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS here and NO others. I'll tell you why in a minute. Giving them internally to a horse might be a huge challenge but if you had capsules to put the oil in, such as veggie caps, you might find a creative way to make sure the oil gets into the horse somehow. Otherwise, at least topically. Understand I am NOT advising you here, these are but suggestions. If you need direct advice, please always consult your holistic or homeopathic veterinarian.
So, now onto the homepathy with the oils...One of our group members stated to NOT mix oils with homeopathy and I'm going to share what I read from the member who had all the great suggestions to help heal this horse's wound: (would apply to a wound on any animal)
Now you have my curiosity peaked....I just had my first intake
visit with a homeopathic practioner yesterday who told me the Young
Living Essential Oils_/ work wonderfully with her treatments/_! Perhaps
the issue here is whether the person who told you that EOs should not be
used with homeopathy *was referring to the run of the mill EOs*, and not
Therapeutic, Organic EOs, such as produced by Young Living. There is a
huge difference! Run of the mill EOs should definitely not be used with
much of anything for healing purposes, as they are most often not pure
nor therapeutic...you are correct about that. Also, whenever I
personally speak of EOs as a recommendation, *the receiver of my info.
should note that I am solely referring to YL Oils.*
Here is an excerpt from another oils elist that I received not long ago
about this exact subject. I am reasonably sure that YL oils can be used
with homeopathy, where as the run of the mill EOs cannot.
"The YL oils will help to build the immune system and all other systems
nervous, hormonal, etc. They will clean the receptor sites, so the body systems
will receive the signals they are meant to. Thus strengthening the body in all ways.
Homeopathy does not use synthetic substances, but relies on the healing
properties inherent in plants, minerals, and even animal substances. These
are used in their whole, natural state, not as isolated chemicals.
The Young Living oils are made from the best parts of the plant and are
the whole oil and life force of the plant to give us the energy of the whole
natural state and they are not isolated chemicals, and no chemicals are
added to our oils.
They should work very well with homeopathy and make it work even better
with the synergistic effects combined. All things work together to make the
whole combination much better than isolating just one treatment or the
other, in my opinion."
So, I would definitely not hesitate to use them together in my own home. If you are in doubt, however, please consult your HOLISTIC or HOMEOPATHIC veterinarian and go with their recommendation. The thing to always keep in mind is that MOST of the oils on the market are NOT therapeutic, pure grade. They may say pure, but you only need 5% pure to be able to put that on the label. Disgusting isn't it? However, Dr. Young, founder of Young Living, is a perfectionist and would never allow anything of less than exceptional quality be associated with him and the Young Living company. So, he took it a step way beyond the very lenient guidelines here in the US for oils, and made sure ours are AFNOR/ISO grade which has very strict, rigid rules used in Europe and other countries. You cannot get that rating on your oils UNLESS they are the pure, unadulterated oil. Most here in stores have synthetics in them rendering the oils basically useless. I've bought them before and was not pleased with the results.
In fact, that is one of the reasons I was initially hesitant to use the essential oils UNTIL I experienced (no other word for it) these oils. So, together with homeopathy whole food supplementation, and the Young Living oils, I feel very secure in the knowledge that I am armed naturally to care for me, my family, and pets. I was also approached by a supplier of homeopathic remedies this last week and they are really good and at a big discount. They are not expired or bad. In fact, Dr. Elliot will tell you that the remedies last quite a LOT longer than the expiration dates but that they have to put an expiration date to be in FDA compliance. In fact, I can now offer you many of the remedies and also a complete homepathic remedy kit which I will be offering on the Natural Pet Care Products Channel and my website within the next couple of days. Be sure to stop by and check out this pricing!
Well that's it for this week pet lovers. I hope you'll come attend this class this week and learn it all from the uh "horse's mouth" er, the doctor's mouth, LOL!
Until next week....

I am wondering if i can use Oil of oregano for my Shihtzu's tear staining? Is it safe to use on dogs especially small dogs?
Oregano is a very "hot" oil and I would not use even Young Living's oregano (the ONLY essential oils I reccomend using) on a dog straight, especially near the eyes. Why would you want to use oregano?
Tear staining is usually due to diet, a yeast overgrowth, fungus or infection. I would first look into switching dog foods to a grain free formula and if the stains don't clear up in a couple of months there is something else going on.
