Mike Chen Goes to College - Hmmmm

Friday, March 18, 2005
I certainly don't want to bash this young man, so take my comments here for what they're meant to be... a skeptical look at a this marketing campaign. Mike's probably really going to college, but I doubt very seriously that he's getting out of the Internet business (DeJa Vu ... Mark Joyner's Farewell).

I have to admit that this campaign's ability to herd in the sheep is pretty good. Let's see...

"Mark, I really appreciate all that you've taught me at the Mark Joyner University of Internet Marketing, but there's this course at the local community college that looks pretty interesting. You think I can take a little time off to take it?"

"I don't know, Mike. You've really been raking in the money for me over this last year. Not sure, I can afford for you to take that time off."

"Ah come on Mark, we made a killing on Make Your Own Software. I deserve a little time off."

"Well, Mike, I certainly don't want to see you burn out at such a young age. Maybe we can play this to our advantage. You know, do one of those, I'm getting out of the Internet Business deals like I taught you about in your first semester at MJU."

"Oh, you mean like make it seem like I'm getting out of the Internet business too?"

"Sure, of course, you and I know you're really not. After all, I didn't. I just made it appear so through brilliant marketing"

"Well, there's one other problem though. We just launched Instant Buzz and that not fully tapped out yet."

"That's not a problem Mike! We'll just call in the gang and see who wants to be the new figure head for that product line. Matter of fact, Mike Filsaime was talking to me a few days ago about wanting to do something different. Maybe he'd be interested in taking over that project."

"Oh, he'd be great. He's been studying you for a long time!"

"Yes he would, and we can even tie in some of other guys and capitalize on this whole deal. You go off to college, that's the gimick, and we tie all these programs in together and make a killing again!"

"Mark, I've got a couple of pieces of software laying around that we can sell too. One's that split testing piece of code I've been playing with."

"That'd be a good one, Mike! After all, the guys that'll be buying this stuff won't care. They'll just think it's the solution to their problems. They still haven't got it that they've got to have something to sell before they can do split testing on what price will be best. Shoot, we'll even throw in some audios and a few other pieces of code and make them think that they can sell this as their product."

"But they won't need to do split testing on these products, since we'll tell them what price they should sell it for."

"Right, so they really won't have to test the code were selling on the stuff we're selling them. They just keep on buying more stuff from us, because they're still looking for that magic bullet that's going to make them successful. We'll just keep creating things that look like magic bullets. Will you still be able to write code in your dorm room?"

"Mark, I won't be in the dormintory! I'm only taking one class!"

"Oh, I forgot, I just started building this up to be more that what it is."

Publisher's Note: This conversation probably did not occur. It's a figment of my imagination. "

Who cares about mike! Does anyone know the algorithm they were selling?

I remember the call - it was suppose to scientifically test two variables

How many of you have used MYOS. There are several hosters who use it and share it with many. I do not know Mike personally but have reviewed his work. Has this been checked on Ponzi.

As a friend of Mike Chen's, all I have to say is that he is going to college, because he wants to, and for more than one class. To Donna, I can guarantee that there are very few that are many more, if any, that are more deserving. Mike has worked extremely hard for everything he has accomplished, and made many sacrifices. So I propose that you all do the same, and find something to do with yourselves other than sit around talking about something you clearly have no information on.

What I want to know is HOW did Mike get to be Mark's personal protege when there are so many of us who might be more deserving of this wealth-building privilege....

Yeah, color me really jealous (and broke!) but I refuse to give up!

Very clever and maybe not far from the truth. As the saying goes,"One born every minute"

Someone should open a betting book on who will it be this week?
