Finding the Funny Side of Life
How are you at finding the funny side of life?
I grew up in the state of New Mexico, whose slogan is: "Land of
Enchantment." In New Mexico we learned to live with dusty wind.
Gusting dust storms bit into the skin, irritated eyes and sometimes
even chipped paint off cars. Howling wind occasionally blew for
several days straight.

Making the Best of You
They say "make the best of a bad situation." But I believe the bad
situation makes the best of you. Even the irritations of life can be
useful. President Abraham Lincoln showed us how this is so.

Take the Plunge
"Watch me dive off the high board, Dad," my ten-year-old son called
out. I looked up to the ten-foot-high diving board and waited as he
stood at the edge, stooped over, arms extended. He had jumped off the
high board many times before, but now his nerve seemed to falter as he
contemplated streaking through the air headfirst.

How To Find Your Real Self Again
Kathy Gates, Professional Life Coach
http://www.reallifecoach.com/
On the surface it seems an odd idea that you could actually be
anything other than who you really are. But from the time we can
talk, we’re being programmed to “fit in”. We find ourselves
conforming in order to please the people we love, and who love
us.
But sometimes that means that you have to suppress what you know
is the real person inside.
And yet, your relationship with yourself is the most important
relationship you’ll ever have. Without a healthy relationship
with yourself, it’s practically impossible to have healthy
relationships with anyone else.
If you’re ready to get re-acquainted with someone you haven’t
seen in a while – yourself – start with these 5 ideas to help you
rediscover the real you.

the same old way and expect a different result?

you.

Get Into The Habit of Winning
Kathy Gates, Professional Life Coach

Award-winning coach, Bill Parcels says: “When you’ve done a lot
of losing, it gets hard to imagine yourself winning. Confidence
is only born out of demonstrated ability. In training camp, we
don’t focus on the ultimate goal of getting to the Super Bowl.
We establish a clear set of goals that are within immediate
reach“.
What lessons about daily life goals can we learn from a Super
Bowl winning coach? I’m glad you asked.

WHO LISTENS?
by Steve Goodier
Two psychiatrists met at their 20th college reunion. One is
vibrant, while the other looks withered and worried. "So what's
your secret?" the older looking psychiatrist asked. "Listening to
other people's problems every day, all day long, for years on
end, has made an old man of me."
"So," replies the younger-looking one, "who listens?"
Unfortunately, that is too often a problem -- who listens? REALLY
listens?

Keep Your Home Happier:
Kathy Gates, Professional Life Coach
www.reallifecoach.com
It turns out your mother was right after all -- Happiness really
does begin at home, with the things and the people you are
surrounded by. Your vision is one of the first messengers to
send signals to your brain as to how it feels. Therefore, it
follows that keeping your home happier will have a direct impact
on how you feel.
What do you see in your home --Clutter? Chaos? Angry faces?
What do you hear -- Loud voices; bad music?
What do you feel when you look around your home? Stress?
Unhappiness? Frustration? UGGGGG!
What if instead you could feel and “see” opportunity and
optimism? Energy and enthusiasm? Ok, maybe that’s going a
little too far, after all it IS just the living room.
Try these ways to let your environment help make you happier.

Helping Mid-Life Employees Find Meaning
By Craig Nathanson, The Vocational Coach
People work to live, but most also live to work. A study on
the meaning of work conducted back in 1987 revealed a strong
attachment to work as a way of life. The study found that 86
percent of people would continue working even if they had
enough money never to work another day. There could be no
better indication that work is not simply a matter of
putting food on the table, but is core to the being of most
adults.

101 Reasons to be Proud to be You
Kathy Gates, Professional Life Coach
www.reallifecoach.com
When someone talks badly to you, what makes that ok? NOTHING!
You are your most valuable resource, and how you value yourself
will depend on how others see you as well.
Webster's defines the word resource as "something that lies ready
for use or can be drawn upon for aid; a supply of something to
take care of a need; wealth; assets, something that can be used
for an advantage. Even if everything you had was taken away, you
still have your mind, your ingenuity, your talents, and your
creativity. YOU are your greatest resource.
