Is there such a thing as an affordable Christmas holiday? A holiday when you aren’t shopping at the last minute with no real idea of what gifts you want to buy? Of course! Just imagine a holiday with plenty of food, fun occasions with family and friends, and gift giving that doesn’t exceed your time and dollar limits. It will all become reality when you learn the tradition that lots of families share each year. So what’s the secret? The tradition (and it’s really no secret) is drawing names for Christmas gifts in your family or group. Some people call it..more..

Yes, they do need everything we can possibly donate.
My Son is in the Air Force stationed in Fort Walton Beach, FL right now, and has already served a term in Iraq, but may have to go again. I pray that he doesn't, but if he does have to go again, it will be good to know that everyone is doing their best to donate what they can so that our troops will know that we are thinking of them.

My Cat Knows More About Marketing Than You Do
Copyright © LuAnn Elliott 2003
Now, now, I'm not trying to be insulting. My cat probably knows more about marketing than I do, too.In fact, it's obvious she is the master. I mean, what other creature would I allow to run between my legs, nearly tripping me, as I fumble my way toward the bathroom in the morning while trying to wake up from my still half asleep state?

LOL!! That's too funny Jim!
I've had cats like that too, they can be so quirky!
But seriously, sometimes when a cat does things like that,i.e., won't use his litter box, it could mean he has a urinal tract infection.
Hope not, but thought I'd mention it.
Love it Glenda! As a co-owner of 2 cats I can attest to the fact that they are great marketers. But I really wonder who is the customer, the cat owner or the cat. Our male got ticked off the other day because his litter box wasn't 100% clean, so he proceeded to urinate on the bed covers... while my wife and I were laying there watching the morning news. Not exactly a way to sell (but it did get our attention), but if you're an upset customer it is definitely a way to let the company know you're not pleased with the service.
However, if he does it again, neutering will be the farthest thing from his mind, I don't care if he's the customer or the sales rep!
I saw this article and thought: What a great way to explain the marketing process! So I just had to post it here! ;)

Why are Violent & Fear-Oriented Words
So Popular in Online Advertising?
by: Susan Nichols
Copyright, Vector Central Marketing
Have you noticed the inundation of violent
words used to
"positively" promote web site and online services?
In
today's atmosphere of terrorism, why is there "not"
a
recognition that terms like the following promote fear
and
negative emotions: "Killer ads" "Blast
your Readers
with..." "Explode your traffic..." And
if the user of these
terms "intends" to gain customers by tactics
of fear - Why?
Do you 'want' to do business or buy from someone who
would
personally hurt you? Offend you? Blast you? Kill you?

I agree with Susan. I believe we can advertise without using words that make one think negative.
Sinbad, who, in case you didn't know is a comedian and performs a very clean act. He doesn't swear or tell dirty jokes. And he made it! So why can't we use words that don't affect us negatively?
It would be a much nicer world to live in wouldn't you agree? And maybe even safer, who knows? As Susan says: Words DO affect us.

Is Adsense Going To Turn Associate Programs Obsolete
by Rich Hamilton, Jr www.ElitesMarketing.com
When Google introduced their new Adsense revenue sharing program, people began to wonder if things would change. Certain questions have been burning in people's mind like: what's going to happen to Associate Programs, how do they compare against Google's Adsense and will Adsense cause Associate Programs to be obsolete?
Well, that really depends on a number of things, which I will go over. In this article I am only going to cover a few advantages and disadvantages of using Google's Adsense vs Associate Programs and which Associate Programs will prevail.
In case you are not familiar with Google's Adsense, Adsense is a new service provided by Google. This service allows you to have text based advertisements on your web site, known as Google Adwords. In return, you will receive a share of revenue based on a pay per click arrangement.

I think I'll wait until Google improves their Adsense program before using them.
I don't think that Associate programs are going to go anywhere anytime soon, but it's a good thing that a program like Adsense will give associate programs a wakeup call and the bad ones will either restructure the way they perform or they will fail to survive.
As Rich says in his article: You must be able to adapt and improve as changes occur.

The Entrepreneur's Prayer
As I awaken with the gift of yet another day and prepare for the tasks at hand, I offer up this most ardent prayer: I pray for continued clarity of purpose so that I may hold my vision steady and keep my focus on the needs and success of others, which in turn shall bring my success. I pray for the wisdom to expect abundance in my life, that it surrounds me and is available for the taking and to be shameless and unapologetic upon its receipt, for I am worthy of abundance.

Thanks for the prayer Glenda! We do need to be thankful for all the gifts God has provided us. Sometimes we get very stressed, but as long as we keep our eyes on the goal (and say a few prayers) we can all achieve greatness.
I get Noel's eZine and really liked The Entrepreneur's Prayer and asked permission to reprint it here for all of you.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Glenda
P.s. Thanks Noel :)

Website Savvy: 10 Key Steps to Turn Your Customers ON! by – Carmen Wisenbaker
How to turn slightly interested customers into - I’ve got to have it! - customers!
I am truly amazed as to the lack of information websites contain. You would think that a business would realize that a potential customer would at least like to know how to contact the customer service department. But, you’d be astonished at how many times I’ve actually come across NO information on the business except place your order here. That truly leaves the customer with a feeling of abandonment. Since I visit so many websites throughout the year, I wanted to list some of the top 10 things I look for when making the decision whether to purchase or not.

Delivering "Cut Above" Customer Service
By: Galen P. Sanderson, Co-Founder, CEO Shopping In The South
Customer service? Two strange little words that are totally non-existent in today’s hurried, hectic, and non-personal world. As you read this article, I want you to think about what kind of service YOU have received recently. Whether that service was given in a restaurant, a retail store, grocery store, or maybe even at one of those “ten minute lube joints” when your car was ready to blow up because you went to long between oil changes.
In today’s environment when everybody wants it now, actually yesterday, versus tomorrow, customer service seems to be a long since forgotten, archaic or even “old fashioned” catch words. People equate customer service with being nice, as well it should be, but It seems

Bob LaPree for The New York Times
Lisa Cook of Brookline, N.H., was taken in, but notified card issuers quickly and avoided losses.
What is wrong with people in our world? I just read an article in The New York Times about Earthlink hunting for 'phishers' last year.
Phishers are people who send e-mail messages that pretend to be from a known Internet Service Provider trying to steal your passwords, personal information, credit card numbers, etc.
The article states that what Earthlink found was that of the people they could clearly identify as engaged in the practice of phishing, more than half of them were under the age of 18. But now it seems that phishers are becoming more sophisticated and more criminal in their dealings.
We all have to be so careful with our private information. Don't ever ever give any information to anyone through an email. Another great tip is to buy yourself a paper shredder, and before taking out your garbage, make sure you shred all papers with any account numbers or personal information on them.

NEW YORK
(AP) - E-mail is crippled, concussed by an irrepressible spam stream.
Web surfing can be equally confounding, a wobbly wade through bursts of
pop-ups and loudmouthed video ads.
And that
may explain the excitement these days over a somewhat crude but nifty
software tool that automatically delivers updated information to your
computer directly from your favorite Web sites.
Enthusiasts see these Web feeds as sketching the outline of the next Net revolution.
The
technology behind them is called RSS and I rely on it daily to consult
The New York Times, the BBC, CNET News, Slashdot and a few dozen other
Web sites that employ RSS to make the very latest news stories or bits
of commentary available for the plucking.

One of the reasons I joined Quikonnex is because I "hoped" that I was joining in "the next big thing". But now, since joining, I KNOW I AM, and it is so exciting! I don't have the words to express my enthusiasm! The technology with Quikonnex and QuikView is just beyond anything I've ever seen or dreamed of. I can't wait until I know all I can about "Q"!
What you guys have here is out of this world! I'm ecstatic to be a part of Quikonnex and QuikView.
Cheers to "The Power of Q"!
Did you realize that you were an active participant in the "next big thing" when you started publishing a channel? This was a good article that highlights the advances that we're making in this environment. The author does say that RSS is broken... not true ... it may not conform to someone else's expectations of technology and how they want to use it, but it's definitely not broken.
