Do you persuade customers, teammates, bosses or employees via the telephone? Like it or not, you're in telephone sales. Even with all the technology on the the Internet, lots of business still revolves around the phone.
Here are some quick tips for making your point more powerful.
Talk clearly. Use short sentences. Talk loud enough but don't over-modulate the mouthpiece (that's announcer talk for distortion). This can be especially tricky when you're on the cell phone in the car. I use a bluetooth ear piece, making it easy to take notes or ordering information. Word of caution do not try to multi-task, carefully listen to what the other person is saying so you know how to respond.
Here's a technique I discovered from talking to newspaper reporters back in the corporate days. When you're talking with a reporter and you want them to write down particular points but not others, vary your pace. Talk fast through the points you don't feel are important, but slow down and enunciate the important parts you want in print. The same works for selling on the telephone.
Leave the script behind. Instead, jot down a few phrases that remind you of your important points. Ad-lib around these to keep your pitch on track. Fear of the phone can be big hurdle for many online marketers. Educate yourself about the product or service you promote. Become a product of the product. Then selling on the phone becomes like talking to your best friend when you know in your heart what's best for them.

I hope my headline caught your attention...something just dawned on me today. Many networkmarketers pre-judge Shaklee, because almost everyone has heard of it and most people think they already know all about it. That is the one mistake many marketers make they dismiss something without even taking a look.
Sometimes we self sabatoge the things we say we want.
I have to tell you when I first learned about Veretekk I dismissed it too, but that was because I didn't fully understand the system. It wasn't until several months later that I saw it re-appear that I decided to take another look. As you know I use the system, talk about it, train how to use it, and plain love the results I get.
Got a question for ya...
Would you start in a new business venture if you knew FOR SURE in 3 years you would make AT LEAST $5000 per month?
I don't know what your answer to this question is but...
For me I would say YES.. if I knew I didn't have to sell the farm to get there.
Granted it does take some money to grow your business, but what if I could say to you that even with a 90% failure rate you could still be making enough to pay for your expenses during those 3 years.
This is next to the worst case scenario guys... the worst thing that could happen is you quit. BIG MISTAKE! Everyday I come into contact with marketers who were in Shaklee or Amway way back 25+ years ago. If those marketers could have stuck it out they wouldn't be still looking for the latest greatest deal! There are so many new companies that promise the moon then go out of business in a couple of years. A word of advise.... YOU MUST FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN STICK WITH!
You might already know this but... everything I do in my business all leads back to Shaklee. Don't worry I'm not the type to hound you or anything. I believe in helping others get what they want first, and in time if it is meant to be they will help me in return.
Many have looked at my afranchiseonline.com site, have seen the vision and simplicity of what we offer. Guys I've been around the block at time or 2, and I can honestly say this the smoothest road into Shaklee I've seen. I just want to be very up front with you, because I know you are a savy marketer.
Savy marketers like me and you are seasoned like a fox and want to know exactly what it is before they even take a look. You noticed I painted next to the WORST case sceniero for you, because I don't want you to get all excited and jump into something and then QUIT! In fact I've talked a few people out of this and told them to request a refund, because after talking to them I knew they expected for me to do it all for them.
Guys be realistic, no one is going to do it ALL for you. Yes... because of Streamline Sponsoring and our Gold Ambassador program we do build a streamline under you and the sooner you get started the better. Yes you will make money even if you don't do anything... but find someone else to join under, because I will tell you to get your money refunded.
Bottom line I only want to work with people who are willing to help themselves and be part of our team. I don't know if this is for you or not. The point is not that you buy everything that comes your way, but that you don't dismiss everything that comes your way. Sometimes a dismissal is a mask. It's your self-sabotage at work, keeping you where you're at. To grow, you must allow.
Again, you are the final authority on your life. Tune in to yourself and do what's right for you. And as you do this, be alert to those times when you may be dismissing the next gift to come your way.
Let your guard down, and let life in.

When you live on a farm in Kansas sometimes your suroundings come through in the web conferencing recording. You will get the short story in this web conferencing recording.
I decided to save this web conference online training and load the whole file up to my server. Not that it's necessarly the best online training I've done, in fact when I re-listened to the recording I just about didn't post it.
There is time during this training that my guineas start making so much noise that I have to stop the training and close the window! If you don't mind hearing real world day to day things that happen on our farm in Kansas then this is a must listen to training.
Here is the link: http://www.barefoot-in-the-garden.com/R/cindy422/index.htm
Just so you know this recording is un-edited and everyone who was in the class text chats show so it's really pretty much like being live in web conference. In this recording I cover most of the basic features of VereConference how to use the screen casting, basic recording features, locking the room etc. btw... as I write this our guineas are up letting their presence be known again this morning.

What can I say...some of us don't give up easy. I'm talking about the disaster online training I hosted last Monday evening. If you missed it you didn't miss much! Everything that could have gone wrong did.
Every Friday I do my scheduling for the next week and I've decided to again jump off the deep end and do another VereConference screen casting training. Trust me I learned a few things from last weeks distaster so it should go smoother this week.
I've changed the time so it's earlier in the day. (a big plus for me) It will be hosted in my Veretekk VereConference room. Access it by going to www.bestconference.net and click on the calendar icon.
Here is what I'm teaching: (hopefully)
- How advanced marketers use web conferencing to expand business
- How to brand and edit your presentations, convert to flash etc.
- Screen Casting
- Using DVD's in the conference room for training and/or entertainment
With that said, if you are like me (not the type that gives up easily) come to my training. Come early cause I'm going to limit the number of participants!

Lessons of the Square Watermelon
This is a great online training lesson about problem solving. If you take this lesson and apply it to your business
you might be suprised at the solutions you can find.
Japanese grocery stores had a problem. They are much smaller than their US counterparts and therefore don’t
have room to waste. Watermelons, big and round, wasted a lot of space. Most people would simply tell the
grocery stores that watermelons grow round and there is nothing that can be done about it. That is how I would
assume the vast majority of people would respond. But some Japanese farmers took a different approach. If
the supermarkets wanted a square watermelon, they asked themselves, “How can we provide one?” It wasn’t
long before they invented the square watermelon.

The solution to the problem of round watermelons wasn’t nearly as difficult to solve for those who didn’t
assume the problem was impossible to begin with and simply asked how it could be done. It turns out that all
you need to do is place them into a square box when they are growing and the watermelon will take on the
shape of the box.
This made the grocery stores happy and had the added benefit that it was much easier and cost effective to
ship the watermelons. Consumers also loved them because they took less space in their refrigerators which
are much smaller than those in the US meaning that the growers could charge a premium price for them.
What does this have do with anything besides square watermelons? There are a few lessons that can you can
take away from this story which help you in all parts of your life.
Here are a few of them:
Don’t Assume: The major problem was that most people had always seen round watermelons so they
automatically assumed that square watermelons were impossible before even thinking about the question.
Things that you have been doing a certain way your entire life have taken on the aura of the round watermelon
and you likely don’t even take the time to consider if there is another way to do it. Breaking yourself from
assuming this way can greatly improve your overall life as you are constantly looking for new and better ways
to do things. This was one of the most difficult things for me to do because most of the assumptions I make, I
don’t even realize that I’m making them. They seem perfectly logical on the surface, so I have to constantly
make an effort to question them.
Question habits: The best way to tackle these assumptions is to question your habits. If you can make an
effort to question the way you do things on a consistent basis, you will find that you can continually improve the
way that you live your life. Forming habits when they have been well thought out is usually a positive thing, but
most of us have adopted our habits from various people and places without even thinking about them. I have
changed a large number of habits that I have had after taking the time to question them and continue to do so.
Some of them I have know idea where they came from while others I can trace to certain people or instances
in my life. It’s a never ending process, but by doing this, you can consistently strive toward making all aspects
of your life more enjoyable instead of defaulting to what you have now.
Be creative: When faced with a problem, be creative in looking for a solution. This often requires thinking
outside the box. Most people who viewed this question likely thought they were being asked how they could
genetically alter water melons to grow square which would be a much more difficult process to accomplish. By
looking at the question from an alternative perspective, however, the solution was quite simple. Being creative
and looking at things in different ways in all portions of your live will help you find solutions to many problems
where others can’t see them. I am not a creative person, but I’ve found that the more that you look at things
from different perspectives, the more creative I have become. It’s a learned art and builds upon itself.
Look for a better way: The square watermelon question was simply seeking a better and more convenient
way to do something. The stores had flagged a problem they were having and asked if a solution was possible.
It’s impossible to find a better way if you are never asking the question in the first place. I try to ask if there is a
better way of doing the things that I do and I constantly write down the things I wish I could do (but currently
can’t) since these are usually hints about steps I need to change. Get into the habit of asking yourself, “Is there
a better way I could be doing this”? and you will find there often is.
Impossibilities often aren’t: If you begin with the notion that something is impossible, then it obviously will be
for you. If, on the other hand, you decide to see if something is possible or not, you will find out through trial
and error. Many of the lessons above are what I used to create my online income. As I’ve said many times, it’s
not easy, but it’s certainly not impossible. Even for those of us that are not A-List Bloggers, creating a full time
online income is quite possible as I have shown.
Take away the lessons from the square watermelons and apply them to all areas in your life (work, finances,
relationships, etc) and you will find that by consistently applying them, you will constantly be improving all
aspects of your life.

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Stay Tuned to my online training web conferences to learn more about some of Warren Buffet's concepts.
Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:
1. He bought his first share of stock at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!
2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
3. He still lives in the same, small 3-bedroom house in midtown Omaha,NE that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
6. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.
He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: Do not lose any of your shareholder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
7. He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His pastime after he gets home is to make himself some popcorn and watch television.
8. Bill Gates, the world's richest man, met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So, he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.
9. Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.
His advice to young people: 'Stay a way from credit cards and invest in yourself and remember:
A. Money doesn't create man, but it is the man who created money.
B. Live your life as simple as you are.
C. Don't do what others say. Just listen to them, but do what makes you feel good.
D. Don't go on brand name. Wear those things in which you feel comfortable.
E. Don't waste your money on unnecessary things. Spend on those who really are in need.
F. After all, it's your life. Why give others the chance to rule your life?
Do you think we all can learn something from Warren Buffet. I will be talking about this post in my web conferencing online trainings over the next few weeks. Join us you will be glad you did. http://events.barefootsuccess.net
I have always said we are drawn to people for the positive qualities we believe exist in ourselves. And in a simmular fashion we tend to be pushed away from people who have qualities we fear most in ourselves. When I learned the charatistics of Warren Buffet I definatly could relate. How about you?

So many times I hear people brag about their page rank in Google. As an online trainer I think it's important for everyone to know that doesn't always show the true picture.
Although most professional search engine optimizers agree that the green PageRank display has little to do with the actual performance of a website in Google and other search engines, many webmasters still focus on websites with a high PageRank when it comes to link building and website promotion.
How to fake the PageRank of a website
The PageRank of a web page can be faked with a combination of a 301 redirect and cloaking. It works like this:
- When a search engine spiders visits a web page URL, the server redirects the spider to a web page with high PageRank.
- Google assigns the high PageRank to the page with the redirection because it thinks that the pages are identical.
- When a human web surfer visits the web page URL, the server does not redirect the surfer. That means that the web surfer sees the web page of the faker and the Google toolbar displays the PageRank of the redirected URL:
To web surfers, it looks as if the web page has a very high PageRank although it hasn't. Note that this method doesn't increase the rankings of the page in any way. It just influences the PageRank display in Google's toolbar.
Google doesn't like cloaking at all so you risk the rankings of your website if you use the method above.
How to check if a website has a faked PageRank
If you think that a web page might have a faked PageRank then you can do the following simple check:
- Search Google for "info:domain.com" (without the quotation marks, replace domain.com with the domain that you want to check).
- If there are no results or if the returned URLs don't match the original URL then it's likely that the PageRank has been faked. If Google returns only one URL for the query and if the URL is the same as the checked URL then the PageRank is okay.
What about the PageRank of your own website?
The green pixels in Google's toolbar are not important. It's important that your website has high rankings for keywords that convert to sales. Website promotion is about getting leads and sales. It's not about getting green pixels.
Don't focus on the PageRank display in Google's toolbar but try to get good rankings for keywords that are relevant to your website. High rankings for relevant keywords that convert to sales are much better than having a lot of green pixels.

There are several added benefits to VereConference that make it stand above the rest when it comes to web conferencing services. One thing that stands out to me loud and strong is the live interactive online trainings. Really to take full advantage of these trainings it's best to be in the web conference live. I did decide that Tom's "Portal of the Week" on Vereconference was very worthy of placing here on my Barefoot's Marketing Strategies Blog.
RECORDING of VERECONFERENCE "Portal of the Week"
I don't know of any other service where they will help you learn html code and actually have the code for your web conference room in the back office for you to just copy and paste. If you need more interactive help setting up your web conferencing service go to http://bestconference.net and check out the live training calendar. Oh yea you can get your own free conferencing service at this site too.
