SICKOS- Debt Card Debt Industry, Medical Insurance Business And Main Stream Media

Saturday, July 07, 2007

I am outraged by the response of the main stream media’s to Michael Moore's movie SICKO. Who’s side are they on? American are facing all kinds of attacks to their well being. Credit Card Debt brought on by Medical Bills, Loss Jobs, Inflation, Gas Prices and on, and on.

This is the beginning of an article that helps to make my point. Click here for the full report.

More than a year after a change in the law sharply reduced personal bankruptcies, the number of Hoosiers filing for bankruptcy is on the rise again. Although the number of filings is still about half the level seen before the bankruptcy law was toughened in 2005, attorneys say credit-card debt and adjustable-rate mortgages are driving more people into bankruptcy.

Southern and Central Indiana residents filed 7,694 bankruptcy petitions with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Indiana from Jan. 1 to June 7.

That's an increase of almost 70 percent from a year ago, when there were 4,570 filings. But the 2006 figures might have been artificially low, experts say, because people who would have filed in early 2006 had rushed to file in 2005 while more lenient rules were still in place.

Before the law changed in October 2005, the number of filings in the Southern District averaged 14,775 from Jan. 1 to June 7 of that year.

"Twas the Night Before Bankruptcy" Poem

Wednesday, December 20, 2006
Let It Snow "Holiday Greetings of Elimination To Credit Card Debt". Not the "Season's Carol" of Missed "New Years Bliss…"

Twas the night before considering Bankruptcy Court, when all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. The chimney with care stacked the bills. In hopes that the right decision was made there.

Our children were nestled all snug in their beds. While visions of college and inheritance danced in their heads.
And mama in her kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our
financial fears for a long winters nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash. Tore open the shutters and threw open the sash.

The moon on the breast of new fallen debt, gave the luster of mid-day snow skepticism of credit card debt relief-- without bankruptcy that lay just below. When to my wondering eyes should appear, but a black carpet and eight big debt lies came near.

With a little old law, so few know—called the "Fair Trade and Lending Act", so lively and quick. More rapid than eagles it can eliminate debt with courses of answers. The laws whistle, and shout, and can be called by name. Just visit Credit Card Rest In Peace for all the right, legal, moral and ethical ways, that is right at your fingertips today!

Not Debt Consolidation, not Debt Settlement, no need for Consumer Credit Counseling or Arbitration! No Bankruptcy. No more Credit Card Debt—just an end to all your financial nightmares, once and for all.
To the top of the dreams, visions and destiny—Our Credit Card Debt was dashed away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane of debt flew, there was no longer a mounting credit card debt to keep us awake another cold winters night. So up on the housetop these "Dreaded Debt Lies" of Debt Consolidation, Settlement, Arbitration or Consumer Credit Counseling mounted the sky. The mere thought of Bankruptcy became a vision of thoughts of the past, as we now had real answers to have "Credit Card Debt" Dash away! Dash away! DASH AWAY ALL!

As my "Credit Card Debt" flew away into the night and of "Holidays Gone Past" I could be heard as my fears drove out of sight, Thank you, thank you Credit Card Rest In Peacefor the real answers you gave my family for financial freedom and a good night's sleep to all, and to all a 2007 Credit Card Debt Free America!!!

Survey: Bankruptcy Filings on the Rise Again, Likely to Return to Pre-2005 Law Levels During Next Year

Monday, October 09, 2006
As the controversial federal bankruptcy overhaul approaches its first anniversary, a new survey of 700 members of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) is the latest proof that the ill-conceived law is failing on an across-the-board basis. More than two-thirds (68.5 percent) of those surveyed said that their bankruptcy filings are up in the third quarter of 2006, compared to the first half of the year. Almost three out of five bankruptcy attorneys (57.5 percent) now expect filings to reach their pre-overhaul levels by or before the law's second anniversary in 2007.

Credit card debt? Bankruptcy should be viewed as a last resort....

Saturday, September 30, 2006
Bankruptcy is a legal declaration of the inability to repay debts. Bankruptcy should be viewed as a last resort. It will have a severe impact on a credit rating and will remain on a credit report for ten years. Furthermore, bankruptcy is not a solution in all cases. Federal student loans, Federal tax debt and child support are exempt from bankruptcy protection. Bankruptcy agreements vary but there are two types of agreements that most people choose: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. In Chapter 7, all unsecured debts are liquidated; in chapter 13, there is reorganization where the filer will pay back a portion of his or her debts to the applicable creditors.....

What happens when the credit card industry writes the laws? According to judges, it’s called anarchy. See this article. Credit cards are the modern tool of empire building, instead of guns. The more we use our credit cards, the more power we give our credit cards.

Lawsuits Galore Against Credit Card Debt.

Friday, July 28, 2006
When Congress passed the bankruptcy bill in 2005, what were they thinking? Look at the large number of lawsuits! Citibank forced to make changes in its marketing practices and cease billing card holders for products never ordered, and is caught allowing mortgage fraud.

Class action against MBNA certified for breach of contract, fraud, and other claims. FIRST USA settles for $84.9 million in a class action suits over charges that the bank had illegally hiked interest rates on consumers. Fleet Boston loses case over violations of Truth in Lending. Next Card gets closed by the Office of Comptroller of the Currency. There are many more cases that show a steady pattern of abuse of customers.

On 17 May 2005 there was a US Senate Bank Committee Hearing on Abusive Credit Card Practices. Link to full hearing, download PIRG’s testimony, download Credit Card Reform Platform released at hearing by PIRG.

In this session MBNA's General Counsel testified that MBNA does not use "universal default", while there were simultaneously many complaints from cardholders to the contrary on many consumer websites claiming the very tings that describe universal default.

What has Congress done since then? NOTHING!!! What is the answer? Don’t use credit cards folks! Don’t make yourself vulnerable to these oppressors. Proverbs 22:7 is holding true even now.

If we closed half of the hospitals in this country, would we say that there are less sick people, or that less people who are sick are being treated? The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA) is creating a similar effect. The threshold of the bankruptcy court has been raised significantly, and many debtors will be left standing outside without the ability to go through the doors. Click here for the Site! [Read More!]

An Empirical Analysis of Personal Bankruptcy and Delinquency

Monday, June 26, 2006
Format: PDF
Size: 161KB

Overview: This paper uses a new panel data set of credit card accounts to analyze credit card delinquency, personal bankruptcy, and the stability of credit risk models. It estimates duration models for default and assess the relative importance of different variables in predicting default. It investigates how the propensity to default has changed over time, disentangling the two leading explanations for the recent increase in default rates - deterioration in the risk - composition of borrowers versus an increase in borrowers' willingness to default due to declines in default costs, including social, information, and legal costs.
