Here is what Mitchell Gayor, MD of Cornelll University say's about clorine bleach... Most people use a wide variety of cleaning products, many of which contain toxic chemicals. Chlorine bleach is potentially carcinogenic and can damage the respiratory system.
Among its by-products are chlorinated hydrocarbons, chloroform and trihalo-methanes, all of which act like weak estrogens and cause breast cells to divide more rapidly. These by-products have been shown to cause breast tumors in animals.
I am sure you care as much as your neighbor, that your home is safe and protective for your family. But did you know that the average home is so toxic from the household cleaners and air fresheners that on an average day in a big city it might even be a good idea to stay outside. Well, that might depend on the city. J Just think about the oven cleaners, floor solvents, stain removers, toilet cleaning supplies and more.
When our home was totally cleared of all the toxins the air, the energy of the house was so pure. People would comment on it when they came to visit. They didn’t know we had become a completely a goes green home and had rid the whole house of toxins. Yet, just walking in they could feel it.
Our health and allergy issues for each of us have changed. We also noticed a change in attitude and behavior with our granddaughter that lives here. Could that be due to the cleaning up; the greening up of our home? I believe it does! So take a look at what is under your sink.
A healthy home is a chemical free home, non toxic and uses only the best natural cleaners and laundry soaps. Is today the day you become a Goes Green home and family? Research it and join in to make a difference.
What bio degradable detergent can be used with laundry water to water plants?
Tana Hamiter - Goes Green Mentor

How can a small act like doing the laundry be such a big effect on the environment? But it is just laundry you say.
Water is becoming a rare resource and most people probably have never given a thought to reusing the water from their washer for laundry, but maybe we should be thinking it over. My husband is a plumber pipefitter and says that any simple plumber or handy man could rig a system and the water could be used to water gardens and yards.
We have large organic gardens and as a Shaklee Independent Distributor I use the Green Laundry Liquid Concentrate. It is natural, biodegradable, concentrated, and hypoallergenic with no phosphates or chlorine. It is perfect for the garden and vegetables.
In fact adding a bit of this soapy water and a dab of liquid garlic and cayenne pepper, no self respecting bug will hang around to harm your plants. Aphids and others swiftly move on to greener pastures.
You could really rethink it over and see if you want to consider water from sinks and bathtubs as well. These are all way is called gray water and can be reused if no toxins are used with it.
Every drop of water wasted will be of concern more and more as our aquifers are going dry and the water we get from the mountain ranges are gone in many places and disappearing fast in others. As our over use of water from the aquifers grew we also found through climatic changes that the expectation of an abundance of fresh water is becoming a thing of the past. I remember when grandma and grandpa always had rain barrels. Perhaps time to rethink it and be more proactive.
People who used the Goes Green Laundry Liquid also used Green Stain Remover and Green Fabric Concentrate; again, all are eco friendly. Being in construction, my husband’s work cloths can get dirtier than most but we have been very pleased with how well the products work and I love the concentration and savings on money, plus it comes right to my door. I’d suggest getting the Pump for handy dispensing f laundry liquid. Two squirts for us and it is ready to wash, no mess, no fuss.
It has just good clean laundry and a happy soil where the water goes. All is as it should be – Go Green!

Go Green with Organic Super Cleaning Product
When I gown up in Germay, the only cleaner my mom bought was a bucket with a soap paste. It was use to clean
everything you can think about, remove stain from cloth, and even to wash hands, body and hair.
Well at that time it was so old fashion and kind of a shame. So went I moved out from home I bought
the modern cleaners, the one should clean better and had that nice smell of freshness.
But as the years went on and I gave birth to my second son, I developed some health issue and a
very bad skin problems, it went so bad that I was not able to move my fingers without my skin cracking
and bleeding. After running from one doctor to another, I learned to threat it with hydrogen Peroxide
and hydrocortisone, and spread my cleaning over the week to prevent a breakout.
It really took me all this year to figure out that it was the chemicals in the cleaning products,
special my nightmare when I needed to clean my oven with ovenoff, it made me so sick with breathing
problems and skins problems even with wearing cloves.
Well the good news is now, I am in love with Organic Super Cleaning Product. Now I can clean as much
as I want and I don't have to wearing cloves anymore, my hands are staying beautiful healed and have absolute
no skin irritation. WOW, that feels so great, believe me.
By the way, I even save a lot of money. I buy a 16oz pure Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate and I am
getting out 48 gallons of super powerful all-purpose cleaner. This cleaner – removes dirt, grease, and
grime from any washable surface, inside and out. Cuts through the most stubborn grease and grime,
leaving no smeary residue. It is a no-rinse, no-residue, streak-free formula.
• Walls • Windows and mirrors
• Sealed countertops, tiles, and floors • Appliances
• Stoves • Sealed woodwork
• Pots and pans • Furniture
• Driveways and engine grease • Barbecue grills
• Ovens
(Not intended for use in aquariums or windshield washer reservoirs.)
Did you know that many all-purpose cleaners may contain toxins that can be absorbed through
the skin or inhaled. Synthetic solvents may cause hormone disruptions. Organic
solvents such as butyl cellosolve are neurotoxins and nasal irritants. Another toxin,
morpholine, can cause liver or kidney damage. Glass cleaners contain ammonia,
a poison that can irritate skin, eyes, and the respiratory system.
Follow me like many done it already and switch to Organic Super Cleaning Product, because
you and your family deserve to live a healthier, happier and longer life.
Many of the conventional cleaners you use in your home are toxic, not only fouling the air you breath but fouling the environment when they are discarded.
I would like to share a few tips on ways you can start making a difference in your own home in your daily activities.
Start Using your Dishwasher!
It is a fallacy that the dishwasher wastes water and electricity. By using the dishwasher you are actually doing better for the planet than by washing your dishes by hand. Your average energy-efficient dishwasher only uses 4 gallons of water per cycle, saving nearly 5,000 gallons of water per year as compared to hand washing—as well as $40 in energy costs and 230 hours of washing time, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The detergent you use of course makes a huge difference as well. A phosphate-free detergent is absolutely necessary if you want to avoid algae blooms and contributing to a major source of water pollution.
There is a Greener Cleaner Automatic Concentrate which is one of the first phosphate-free automatic dish wash detergents.
Get rid of the Anti-bacterial Hand Soap
The most commonly used ingredient in antibacterial soap that kill microbes is Triclosan, and at specific levels is highly toxic to aquatic life. In addition to that, overuse of antibacterial and antimicrobial soap, plus the fact that the vast majority of people do not wash their hands properly, helps create antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which effectively weaken any currently useful antibiotics. Antibacterial soap isn't any better than a good thorough, vigorous hand washing at protecting us from illness.
There is a Greener Cleaner Hand Wash Concentrate which is a terrific antibacterial-free alternative. It is hypoallergenic, pH balanced, soap free and is biodegradable.
BYOB - Bring your own bag
It doesn't matter if you use paper or plastic a certain amount of it still ends up in the landfills, the plastic can take a thousand years to decompose and the resources used to create these bags either cannot be returned or will take years to replace. The best choice remains your own reusable bag. Whatever you use can make your statement and can be used over and over.
Greener Cleaner offers lightweight, reusable shopping bags that are sturdy enough to use every time you shop.
Last but not least, shop with socially responsible companies, that recognize the value of our non-renewable resources and the importance of protecting the environment for ourselves, our families and for all our future generations.
As a Shaklee Independent Distributor I am involved with a company who has a long history of responsibility to the environment, including introducing one of the first biodegradable cleaners in 1960. History shows that this company is not doing the right thing just because it is the in thing to do but because it has always believed it is the right thing to do.
Use your power as a consumer to support these companies that are taking the lead in environmental responsibility and that offer the products that are safe for you and the environment.
As a Shaklee Distributor I am proud to say that my company is the first in the world to obtain Climate Neutral™ certification and totally offset it greenhouse gas emissions.

KEYWORDS: New green cleaners, getting green, greener cleaner
The health of your home directly relates to the health of your family and the health of the planet.
There is a lot of press about unhealthy air outdoors, but the truth is since most people spend a majority of time indoors, the quality of our indoor environment is a major concern.
Some of the major causes of indoor air pollution include, oil, gas, kerosene, coal, wood, tobacco smoke, building materials, mold and mildew from damp carpet, bathroom fixtures, basements, household cleaning products, and lead-based paints.
The major cause of these things becoming a problem for our indoor air quality is improper air circulation. Many of these same things create a problem for the planet as well either in the waste it produces or the way we use it.
Going green is not necessarily difficult or complicated. We can all start with small steps within our own sphere of influence. The little things you do every day
helps to keep your family, home, and planet healthy.
When we target our own waste streams we are capable of keeping over 10,000,000 pounds of waste out of the landfills. We can eliminate over 23,000,000 pounds of greenhouse gas.
Let's look at some small steps you can take to keep your family, home and the planet healthier.
Greening Up Your Cleaning Products
Many of the conventional products used to clean your home contain questionable chemicals such as phthalates, butyl cellosolve, sodium hydroxide, ammonia, and formaldihyde. These chemicals endanger your health and the health of your loved ones, your family and pets. There are more natural and healthier alternatives.
There are Greener Cleaner products
Clean Up Your Cleaning Products that are safe, nontoxic, and natural which do a great job cleaning your home. You don't need the toxic, unsafe chemicals to do the job. Greener Cleaner products use sustainably sourced ingredients that are biodegradable using corn and coconuts with activated enzymes. healthier life. Look for this book in stores Sept. 23rd.
Using Google Search for dangers of toxic cleaning supplies I found The Daily Green Web Site. I'd suggest you save in your favorites, It has excellent articles. The first I found, much to my delight was:
Buzz up!
In order to asses the level of consumer awareness about the potential dangers of toxic home cleaning products (and no doubt to support their own product development and marketing efforts), the pioneering natural products company Our Goes Green Company commissioned a Harris Interactive poll.
Harris called 1,108 moms across the U.S. with children under the age of 18 living at home. The results are interesting:

"Being a concerned mother of nearly four, I do care about the wellness of my family and the toxins in my home. But this concern has taken different action over the past years. When I had my first baby, I gave cleaning products a great deal of thought and tried to make as many as I could using earth friendly ingredients and recipes I found online. Then, after the arrival of my second baby, I needed convenience and so I tried some of the green cleaners found at health food stores. They were expensive so at times I had to just use the chemicals that choke you from the cleaning aisles of grocery stores. And finally, after my third baby, I needed maximum convenience and minimum price. So I started to use Clorox wipes, among other things. (I have to be honest, even though I hate to admit it.)
Unfortunately, I was doing more harm than good. A friend of mine suggested I watch Toxic Brew, a news segment produced by a Canadian news station. After watching this video, the reality of what I was bringing into my home began to "dawn on me."
[Ed. Note: View Toxic Brew online at http://www.barefootmerchant.com.htm.]
"Only a month or so later, I heard of the work of Dr. Doris Rapp, who researches the effects of harmful chemicals on children's health. (You can find her books, including Is This Your Child's World? at www.amazon.com or www.drrapp.com)
In one of her studies, she tested the effect of bleach on six-year-olds handwriting. I looked at the printed results, and was amazed at the evidence. Before a bottle of bleach was opened, students wrote their names fairly well. Then, with just an opened bottle of bleach in the room and the fumes wafting through the air, the children wrote their names dramatically different. Some wrote messy, some too small to read, and one even wrote backwards.
Being the devil's advocate that I am, I thought: Well, "they just printed up the worst case scenarios. Certainly it wouldn't affect my kids this way." So, I determined to do the same test at home. I didn't tell my kids what I was doing. I only told them to write as neatly as they could. They printed their names on a sheet of paper. Then, I told them to hold up their papers while I wiped the table off with a Clorox wipe. As soon as it was dry enough, I had them put their papers down and write their names again. I was shocked!
My daughter's writing was visibly messier; instead of letters being tight and connected, they were loopy and crooked. My son was completely distracted by something while he was writing his name! (This is uncharacteristic of him. He has no attention difficulties.) When he realized that he was talking about something else, he stopped mid-sentence and said:"Wait, I'm supposed to be writing my name!" The next letter he wrote was upside-down (which my son had never done before). I took it to the next level and had my children move to another room where there were no Clorox fumes. They wrote their names again and proved that without being "under the influence" they could write just as neat as the first time. I could clearly see that the chemicals were affecting both writing ability and focus.
My children are home-schooled and we do chores every morning before school starts. Since they have direct exposure to cleaners, I was burdened by thoughts of how the cleaning chemicals were affecting them in other ways. To make a long story shorter, I promised myself from that time on that I would not subject my children's minds to danger again, not to mention their lungs and skin.
And I am very pleased with the alternatives that Shaklee Distributors offer! The Green Clean products are very powerful, environmentally friendly, cost-effective cleaning products that contain no toxic chemicals and no dangerous fumes! What more was I looking for? I have totally clean, residue-free dishes; totally clean, irritation-free clothes; and totally clean, fume-free chore time! I LOVE IT and I want to spread the word so that every mom can give her children the priceless gift of a toxin-free home."
Shaklee Distributors Green Clean line offers fantastic alternatives to everything you use to clean your home. And now the Green Clean Starter Kit has added Germ Off Wipes to the kit, which is an excellent alternative to Clorox Wipes.
