Really posting to forums is just another way of communicating online. I know I'm going to sound like a broken record here.. but here goes... people buy from people... people don't care how much you know til they know how much you care. A forum is just another way to connect with people online and get to know them.

Using forums as a Marketing Strategy is one way to get quality in-bound links to your site and also to drive traffic to it too. One marketing strategy we haven't talked about to much is teaming up on a forum and working together to build each others link popularity and website traffic.

I'm sure we have all been to a forum and look to see which threads have lots of posts on them. Everybody likes to go to an active forum with lots of posts about a subject they are interested in. Most people go online to seek information about a product and service. Usually popular forums rank high in the search engines too because there is lots of new contect being added all the time... Search Engines love new content!

For team posting to work first you must have some willing participants. I think the main thing to remember when you post on a forum is who you are writing content for. You are writing for the readers of that forum and you must supply them they type of content they are searching for. For instance if you are on a gardening forum you will be talking about gardening topics not your business, but that doesn't mean you can't but a link to your business or opportunity site in the signature line. Really you just have to check out the posting rules on the forums to see what is allowed and what isn't.
