Hillary Clinton would make an excellent President and, IMHO, we desperately need a President like her right now. However, I do not think this country will be able to elect her in 2008. By then, the fundamentalists who are the power behinnd the throne now will have so firmly entrenched themsleves and so curtailed our freedoms that it will take a major miracle to unseat them. My concern is not who will be elected in 2008 but rather will we survive as a democracy until then or will be the theocracy I fear we are becoming.

Procrastination Emancipation

Friday, January 21, 2005

It's early January as I sit down to research and write this newsletter. I launch my web browser, surf over to MSN.com, surprised to find the feature article displaying a picture of Santa Claus with the caption "It's not too late to have your presents arrive on time." Somebody's been procrastinating - either Bill Gates or me (maybe I didn't refresh my browser). Or maybe my computer is trying to give me the hint to stop procrastinating and set about the task of writing this newsletter. Nah... Bill Gates must be the guilty one!

I agree that it is Gates. That man and therefore that company is driven by a need to make as much money as possible. There is no limit to their greed.

This relates well to your earlier post too. Until we all - oncluding Bill Gates and all the Bill Gates-wannabees, learn mosre moral responsibility, we will continue to see people suckered into buying the magic bullets Jim mentioned in his comment to your earlier post. There is no easy way to get rich on the Internet and never really was. The few that did get rich did it because they were in the right place at the right time more than anything else. And just because one person makes a million doing something does not mean the next person who does the exact same thing will get rich as well. Add a few houndred people doing that same thing to the mix, and the odds of fiancial gain go way down.

As Jim said, it takes creativity, hard word and perserverance to make a licing on the Internet. The creativity to come up with your own product that will sell, the hard work required to promote it and provide high quality customer service, and the perserverance to stick with your marketing even if your rpoduct does not sell right away.

You must have faith in your product and more importantly, faith in yourself. Depend not on others to provide you with a magic bullet. Take responsibility for yourself and do it with integrity and honsty.

Stone Evans has followed the lead of the other "online gurus" and offers the so-called magic bullet to making money on the Internet. There is no magic bullet. It takes creatively and hard work. Find a product or service that someone WANTS and needs, and then SELL it. The reason site's like pluginprofits makes money is because it's selling what Net Surfers WANT, the magic bullet. However, I'd question that what's being sold is what they need.

EPA Will Use Poor Kids as Guinea Pigs to Test Toxic Chemicals

Wednesday, November 17, 2004

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced plans to launch an outrageous new study in which participating low income families will have their children exposed to toxic pesticides over the course of two years.

For taking part in these studies, each family will receive $970, a free video camera, a T-shirt, and a framed certificate of appreciation. The study entitled CHEERS (Children's Environmental Exposure Research Study) will look at how chemicals can be ingested, inhaled or absorbed by children ranging from babies to 3 years old.

Please take a moment to follow this link and join tens of thousands of citizens in petitioning the EPA to terminate this study prior to its proposed launch in early 2005.

Hi Phillip, Yes, this is true. I have been investigating it and find it horrendous. Of course, the EPA is in on population control - worldwide - and approve of abortion on demand as well as forced (as in China - UN backed) and they are thrilled to conduct such experiments on humans everywhere. They are also part of the movement NOT to feed the hungry children of the world because it hurts the reduction in population movement to lower the human count worldwide. The fact that more Americans are not outraged is disturbing. We need to educate people about this secret, growing movement.

I Would Give Anything To …

Sunday, October 31, 2004

(c) Kathleen Gage

A couple days ago I was listening to a CD by one of the most successful speakers in the industry. He has been around for many years and is considered one of the greats. He is also considered to be somewhat off the beaten path. As much as he is admired and respected by many, he is judged by just as many. The segment I found most intriguing was one about how others often say to him, "I would give anything to be a successful speaker and author just like you."

William Beausay II

From the Book "Boys"

Frogs, vultures. beetles and rocks,
All kinds of people in all kinds of flocks:
They all share some things together,
A hope, a dream. a reason, a scheme.

In your life you'll know them all.
Hitch your dreams to a star; follow them big or small;
But remember we're united by a painful blow
That comes when thw world hisses its heartless NO!

How A Child Riding His Bicycle Reminded Me Of A Profound Truth

Sunday, August 29, 2004

Have you had the pleasure of watching a child learn to ride a bicycle for the first time?

I recently had that pleasure with my 6 year old son Gabi.

We got his bicycle out and let him ride for a while ... with his training wheels.

We decided to take the training wheels off ... of course mom made him wear his knee pads, elbow pads and helmet ... nothing wrong with that ;)

Well, he DID ride the bicycle without the training wheels ... first,, a short distance ... then longer distance as his confidence seemed to grow. He probably rode it 50 - 100 yards or so ... without our assistance.

Which reminded me of something I learned long ago ... It's easier to STAY in motion while you are IN motion ... true with bicycles, true with life & business :) Once you get going, it's easier to STAY going. Sometimes starting seems to be worse than trying to climb Mt. Everest .

Isn't it sometimes curious how life will remind us of lessons we learned long ago, but seemed to have been 'shelved' for future use? That we sometimes get reminded of the most profound things with the accomplishment of a VERY simple task or goal?

Getting A Solid Internet Marketing Foundation

Copyright (c) 2004 Willie Crawford

Profit Magician http://ProfitMagician.com

As we look at building our online businesses, many of us acknowledge, early-on, that we don't know it all. Those who don't, are almost certain to fail because they often attempt to apply techniques that simply don't work online - to their online businesses. The quickest way to online success is to model those who are already successful at what you want to do. It' s that simple.

Of all of the chores involved in building your business, marketing is usually the most critical. Poor marketing is also the reason so many businesses fail. You need to learn to
properly market your business or hire someone else to do it for you. I'll give you a few recommended resources to help jumpstart your education in a minute.

A second extremely important skill that goes hand-in-hand with marketing is generating publicity. You can have the greatest product in the world, but if no one knows about it,
it may as well not exist. If no one knows about you, then you won't make any sales!

Response to: Getting The Message Author: Rosalyn Bronstein

Monday, July 19, 2004

Rosalyn makes some excellent points here Getting The Message, However I invite you to consider my response and make constructive comments.

It's becoming more and more difficult to send and receive
information without running into obstacles. I experienced this first hand a few weeks ago, when I inadvertently learned that my e-mail addressed had been 'hijacked' by a spammer. It was only when a message I hadn't sent bounced back to my account that I was even aware this had happened. So there is the obvious question ... how many more people is this happening to? The answer is: plenty.

E-mail fraud is easy to pull off. Spammers use bulk mail
programs that forge headers onto the e-mail message. Some of these programs combine the recipient's account name or e-mail address with another domain name to make it appear more authentic. The message seems to originate from the recipient's own account, bypassing the filter. There are numerous variations on this activity to make it appear that the e-mail is coming from someone other than the true source.

Pretty disturbing stuff, huh? It not only leaves one with a
feeling of anger that this has happened, but also a feeling
of helplessness to stop it. It may also create a backlash as governments over-react with legislation geared to curb it. But the bottom line is greed and a lack of ethics on the part of the people who engage in this activity.

If no one responded to spam, perhaps it would cease to exit. There would be no reason to send it. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. With a response rate of one in 10,000, spammers are finding this activity immensely profitable otherwise, they wouldn't be doing it. They are sending out millions and millions of unwanted advertisements daily, clogging our accounts and bandwidth.

There are legitimate ways to send out lots of e-mail quickly
to opt-in accounts. For writers, using a service such as the
phantom writers ( http://www.thephantomwriters.com ) is easy, inexpensive, and safe. For those sending out newsletters there may be a wave of new requirements to cut down on unsolicited postings. It may also become more difficult to ensure that wanted publications are received, as spam blockers become more vigilant.

While it IS more difficult to ensure that WANTED publications are received, I'm rapidly approaching the notion that email will soon be TOO difficult for the small publisher to contend with.

With the proposed 'bonded sender'and 'Sender Policy Framework' guidelines( http://www.spf.pobox.com ), it could be enough to force the publishers hand NOT to use email as a form of contacting their list(s)

Rosalyn further writes: Perhaps what's needed is a messaging system that bypasses e-mail altogether.

I don't know enough about the system that Rosalyn promotes in her resource box to make fair comments. It seems to offer enough for family communications, sharing pictures, stories and the like.

However, I'm of the opinion you can promote family AND business BETTER with Quikonnex (Ok, so I AM biased).

Used appropriately, e-mail is a great communication tool.
However, the opportunity for abuse has turned it into
something less attractive.

I agree email is a great communication tool. However, due to a lot of changes in HOW email is handled by ISP's, it has lost a lot of it's effectiveness, especially, the marketing and business side of using email

The Client Said "Yes" -- What Next?

The Client Said "Yes" -- What Next?

Copyright (c) Bill Vannot - All Rights Reserved

http://www.successful-marketing.com

====================

Once the client says "yes," what do you say to them besides
saying "thank you"?

Remember that you must be very careful not to buy back the
order by over stating tons of features after you've made
the sale. You should take your business and run. Having
that in mind, there is a possibility that you can add to
your sale by suggesting upgrade goods or services that
enhance the primary offer.

The real debate is, what fits? Since you have tailored your
initial sale to the customers needs as you first perceived
them to be, you can prepare yourself as you set your
pre-email objective, Ask yourself this...."If this sale
happens like I have just planned it, what should be my
logical, next step?" What will my response be after I thank
this client? (Do this before you ever contact anyone. Plan
for success)
