In Today's Words For The Week Podcast, we will discuss the inevitable consequences we must deal with when we sin - even though we are completely forgiven.
I've been dealing with my 15 year old daughter's faulty judgement process. Since I am having to do some serious disciplining, it's making me think about how God disciplines us, how He feels, and what still happens after we're forgiven.
We will talk about the woman caught in adultery, and what probably happened when she left the place where Jesus forgave her and told her to sin no more.
Do you think that just because Jesus had forgiven her, that life was fine now? I think she still had to deal with her damaged reputation, and society's reaction to her, and finding a new way of life for herself. The same is true for all of us when we mess up - we are forgiven, but we have to wade through the damage we have caused by our sin.
I'd love to hear what you think about this comparison...
