This weeks Words for the Week I want to share with you an inspirational article titled "Your Worth." It is written by an unknown author but it is a wonderful article that helps us keep our perspective on things in our lives.

Your Worth
By: Unknown Author

Do not undermine worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what people deem important
Only you know what is best for you.
Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
Do no let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past nor for the future
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Do not be afraid to encounter risk, it is by taking chances that we learn to be brave.
Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love
The fastest way to lose love is to hold onto it too tightly
In addition, the best way to keep love is to give it wings
Do not dismiss your dreams,
To be without dreams is to be without hope, to be without hope is to be without purpose
Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been,
but also where you are going
Life is not a race but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
So smile and let the Son shine through, for God is watching over you.

I pray that you are blessed and that you begin to slow down, dream dreams and live life one day at a time not taking anything for granted and living to the fullest with lots of love, hope and purpose.

With Easter just around the corner I wanted to share several messages with you until the end of April in order to help us focus on the true meaning of the Easter season being that of the Cross and the power of the resurrection that is for each and every one of us.

Today I wanted to share with you a devotional I did last year on the Power of the Resurrection.

Power of the Resurrection

“I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His suffering, becoming like Him in His death, and so somehow to attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Philipians 3:10-11

As Christians, are we able to speak as Paul does in Philipians? Too often we do all we can to avoid sharing in His sufferings and we observe the law by our human effort rather then allowing the Holy Spirit do the work. But the power in Christ’s resurrection does not come without His suffering and the work of the Holy Spirit. In order to attain this power of the resurrection in our own lives, there are some very important conditions to be met

First we must die to ourselves and our sinful nature. It’s a choice we make to no longer be slaves to sin because “anyone who has died has been freed from sin” according to Romans 6:7. It is a choice we find we must make several times daily and for the rest of our lives to be slaves to righteousness instead. We won’t always win this battle within us but it does get easier to make the right choice the more we do it and thanks be to God that sin is no longer our master and we are not under law but under grace.

Second, we must live according to the spirit. By first dying to our sin that once bound us, we have been released from the law so we are able to serve in the new way of the Spirit through our faith not in the old way of the law through our human effort. Those who live according to the spirit have their minds on what the spirit desires according to Romans 8:5 and where ever the spirit of the Lord is you will find freedom no matter what trial you may be facing.

Third, we must be made new in the attitude of our minds. Because our minds are our greatest battlefield we should make every effort to have our minds set on what the spirit desires and on things above, not on earthly things, thinking about whatever is true, noble, right and pure. True freedom in Christ comes from within our hearts and minds, which is why even a prisoner can experience freedom while behind bars. Therefore let us transform our minds by meditating on the Word of God and His truth because the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace according to Romans 8:14.

By striving to meet these conditions each and every day, it will become easier for you to truly be able to speak as Paul does in Philipians and so begin to embrace your trials and allow the Holy Spirit to do the work in you in order to attain the power of the resurrection in your life. “The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Cor. 1:18 NIV)

Heavenly Father, I thank you for Jesus and the power and freedom in the Cross. Help us to die to ourselves daily and allow the Holy Spirit to do the work in us rather then by our own effort. Being made new in the attitude of our minds by meditating on the Word of God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

In closing, I leave you with a question to ponder. What do I need to die to in order to let the Holy Spirit work and reveal the power of the resurrection in my life?

I pray you and your loved ones have a blessed Easter season.

Today I wanted to share with you a poem titled Finding It All written by Joyce C. Lock. We all search for more in life and this poem was a great reminder of how we can Find it all in Thee.

Finding it All

We search to win life's battles, to climb Mount Everest,
To give our best in all we do, and let God do all the rest.

We learn of power, strength, and might - searching for victory;
Determining to not give up the fight, as it maps our destiny.

We search to be more Christ-like, in all we say and do,
And to reach out to help others by using the Master's tools.

We find, to overcome Satan and the storms that rage within,
When sea monsters come to shore, we can always run to Him.

We search for happiness (of a lasting kind)
And know that, even through trials, pure joy we can always find.

We search for Heaven's treasures. We fight the roaring sea.
We search for Peace, Hope, and Love - and find it all in Thee.

There is always hope where there is a chance for change.

This is something we often forget, and fall into hopelessness, just like an adolescent. Only 2 things don't change: death and taxes. There is no hope once you are dead, and if you get money, you must pay taxes.

But if you are alive, there is always hope. Better a live dog than a dead lion. When King David's son was ill, he mourned and prayed and did all he could, but when the son died, he gave up his mourning and went back to the business of life. Many people have given up hope when there is still chance of change.

In what way are we like adolescents?

Adolescents get tunnel vision and feel hopeless at the drop of a hat. It's the first time they have experienced whatever it is, and they believe it will last forever. Only age and experience teach us that nothing stays the same, and that everything changes.

But adults can fall into tunnel vision, and forget the lessons they have already learned - that change is inevitable, and that this too will pass. And chances are, that this will even happen again! We need to get a grip on the bigger picture, and realize that, good or bad, things will be different tomorrow.

In today's podcast, we discuss the factors in losing hope and gaining perspective.

We will see how the ripple effect of life means that everyone is affected by other people, events and situations. Nothing can possibly stay the same in this world. So therefore, there is always hope.

If you would like to share your story of how you regained your hope, please let me know here at the http://www.WordsForTheWeek.com or the http://www.YourVoice-Podcast.com site. I'd love to hear from you. And for more encouragement, check out the audio books at Encouraging Audiobooks.
