If lately you're finding the tasks and responsibilities in your work schedule more than you can bear, you may well be approaching "burnout."
Burnout is not an imaginary condition that's "all in your mind." It's a very real mental and physiological condition caused by a stress overload.
Burnout arises when we're overworked, overtaxed emotionally, or physically exhausted...

**How Love Lights You Up
When you're in love your eyes light up, your face lights up --
and so do four tiny portions of your brain.
Neurobiologists Andreas Bartels and Semir Zeki of University
College in London used MRI brain scans to peer into the
brains of college students in the throes of that crazed, can't-
think-of-anything-else stage of early romantic love.
When the subjects were shown photographs of their sweet
hearts, the MRI images showed that four parts of their brains
'lit up.'

Marines and Sailors,
As we approach the end of the year I think it is important to share a few thoughts about what you've accomplished directly, in some cases, and indirectly in many others. I am speaking about
what the Bush Administration and each of you has contributed by wearing the uniform, because the fact that you wear the uniform contributes 100% to the capability of the nation to send a few onto the field to execute national policy. As you read about these achievements you are a part of, I would call your attention to two things:

Egyptian Government Daily:
Suicide Bombings are Legitimate Even if Children Are Killed
An editorial in the Egyptian government daily Al-Masaa praised suicide/martyrdom operations, and called on Palestinian organizations to not publish the names of the bombers so that their families' houses would not be demolished. The article focuses primarily on female suicide bombers, following the debate in the Arab media over Hamas's dispatching of Reem Al-Riyashi, a mother of two, to carry out the January 14, 2004 bombing in Gaza. The following is the translation of the editorial: (1)

Hi all,
Prior to the Second World War, the British policed the Middle East to ensure oil supply.
Ultimately, the United States assumed this role in the 1950's.
Recently, President Bush announced a new American approach to the region.
This editorial is an example of why the West has to reorganize its relationship in this part of the world.
Energy dependency on a region which advocates this way is foolhardy.
(As a Canadian I suggest America look to the oil sands in Alberta. But ultimately America needs to move away from oil.)
Violence begets violence.
The Palestinian problem could easily have been resolved over 60 years ago, if the Arab people were willing to accept the existence of an Israeli state.
This editorial simply supports the view the Arab community is unwilling to accept this existence, despite public statements in the Western media to the contrary.
What is horrific is editorial commentary advocating people blowing themselves up and the belief this form of violence will resolve the issue for the Palestinians.
It won't. But it will continue to perpetuate the misery for the Palestinian people.
Ugh. Of course, there are those who think the Jews control the world, blame the Jews, yatta, yatta, yatta.
(If you look closely at Russia for example, you will find a strong streak of anti-semitism in its foreign policy. This is why America needs to be wary in its relations with Russia, just as much in my view the next "big" struggle will be between an undemocratic China and the democracies.)
I am not saying Israel comes to this table with clean hands. The projection of power is an ugly business and clearly Israel has the more powerful hand.
But supporting the killing of innocent children is not a responsible way to go about creating a state.
Kind regards,

ED NOTE: I found this interesting article...
Email vs. RSS
There's been a bunch of discussion over the past couple months about RSS replacing email as a way to communicate. I don't think its going to happen. Sure email is broken. There's way too much spam, the ISPs are getting overloaded, and it's inherently unintelligent and insecure.
But email is the primary application for most people who use the Internet. And it will continue to be. The only thing that is close in terms of mass adoption is instant messaging. RSS is not even on the map.

Bobette,
I appreciate your digging up these two resources.
A couple of comments:
* If in the next release of Outlook, etc. there is some form of RSS reader this will change the picture for services like Quikonnex.
When this happens Quikonnex and related services will truly make sense.
* Quikonnex needs to create an index, allowing people to quickly subscribe, etc. to channels of choice.
I am not sure if having everyone on the same server, with the same basic format is good or bad.
It makes it harder for publishers to create individual brand loyalty.
But I can see how it would enhance search engine listings and the like.
* Until RSS, etc. goes mainstream, despite what others may say, you still need to consider e-mail delivery as a mode of distribution.
(Recently the mainstream online marketing media is beginning to focus on RSS. People are looking for solutions.)
* Quikonnex has the potential to become a useful platform for multi-media delivery.
I know some will disagree with me on this, but for now e-mail marketing is not dead.
However with voice over internet protocol technology and the ease of adding sound, change is clearly in the winds.
Kind regards,
John Glube

We have all seen the ads: "Have you been injured? You may be entitled to a Cash Award!" or "If you lost money in the stock market because of your broker's casino mentality, call us to recoup your losses!"
It's sad but true. If you accumulate wealth, you become a target for lawyers, the IRS or someone with less than you. The good news is that you can protect yourself from a devastating lawsuit.

Kerry has catered to a craving for personal publicity since the days he pretended to throw away three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star he had been awarded while in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
They weren't his; he borrowed others' medals to pitch.
But he still uses his service days as an excuse for his salty and profane language, recently spread out for the world to see in Rolling Stone. He often brags about his combat experience. But he avoids talking about the awards or his very obvious disrespect for Vietnam veterans and his support for communist Vietnam.
