Supporting Health from the Inside Out

You all know that this is my favorite subject! lol this a great little article and perfect timing with all the recalled pet foods and treats that have been making dogs very sick and even killing them.

The immune system is an intricate biological protection system responsible for determining what belongs to and in the body versus what does not belong and requires elimination. It defends the body against infection, disease and foreign substances. The immune system begins with the skin and digestive system, and incorporates the glands, hormones, blood and organs throughout the body. Keeping your companion's immune system in good shape will go a long way in preventing ill health and chronic disease.

Winter Stress On The Immune System
Okay, lol here I go again about the Immune System!

This time of year, with limited sunshine every day, cold feet, snow, cold rains, with the heating systems blowing day in and day out, the winter in and of itself plays havoc with our dogs and their health too.

My dog and I love your web sight. Below I put some info about distilled water and your pet. I think people should know whats in the water they are giving to there pets.

Pets with skin and coat problems very often have their lymph system slowed down by the addition of too many toxins in the pet's body. The lymph system is the body's waste disposal system and is aided by various organs such as the liver and kidneys.
Normal cell activity produces wastes which must be gotten rid of, and excessive wastes can come from food ingredients that are not easily digested or assimilated into the cells. Plus many toxins are in the body from such things as chemical preservatives, fillers in the foods, and other various ingredients which are not digestable....and from drinking impure water.
Tap water contains chemicals like sodium fluoride and chlorine. These are not chemicals which contribute to your pet's health and thus when drank, they become waste that the animal must remove.
Well water is often not properly tested or treated for the presence of bacteria/micro-organisms and there is usually a heavy concentration of minerals.
Happy & Healthy Pets recommends giving your pet ONLY Distilled water. NOT bottled water.
Distilled water is 99.9% pure and will not only ease the burden of chemicals being ingested, but will help to flush the liver, kidneys and lymph system of the wastes and allow these organs to have an easier time functioning.
You can get distilled water at any local chain grocery or drug store.
Remember: many skin problems are the result of too many wastes (toxins) in the body that are not being flushed out. If people want to know were to get one. Jeremy me sold me mine. His email is jeremy@distilled h2o.com . He's great and veary informative. My dog turttle loves him to!

Restoring Health To Your Dog
Hi Friends! As you all know by now, I am very passionate about natural health for our pets (ourselves as well). I belive that it should all start with prevention. The majority of my customers are not contacting me asking how to start thier new puppy out right though, they are asking how to help thier sick dog get well.

Let me start this out by saying that it does no good trying to restore health to your sickly little pet, if you are not going to continue to practice good nutrition and balance in your dog's life.

Dog Flu or Virus

Dog Virus

Hi Friends! By now I am sure most of you have heard about and even read about the new Dog Flu or Virus going around at the race track and some boarding faculities and pet shops. Some people are very worried about thier dogs getting it. Let's talk about viruses and prevention a bit today.

Viruses are different from bacteria. They are much smaller and live inside cells in the body rather than between them. Where antibiotics will work against bacteria, they do nothing against viruses. Because viruses live inside cells it can be difficult to get antiviral treatments to reach them without upsetting the cells that they are in.

Why Asia Died....
It has taken me a whole year to be able to sit down and write about my sweet little Asia who died when she was not yet 3 years old. Her loss was so painful I couldn't even verbalize it. Now, if her story can save just one epi's life by having titers instead of boosters, her loss will not have been in vain.

Antioxidents For Dogs?

Antioxidants: A Practitioner's Perspective
by Dr. Wendell O. Belfield

There is so much in the news on the great benefits of antioxidents for us humans! What about our dogs? Could antioxidents prevent and control diseases in our dogs as well?

The use of drugs and chemicals have had their day. Though they have helped in many diseases, there have been many negative effects that have cost lives. The past decade has brought about an increase use of herbs as therapeutic agents. Though these substances are natural, they are still pharmacological (drugs) substances that are foreign to the body and can be deleterious.

Our Dog's Health

Our Dog's Health
You are all aware by now that I belive that the key to good health in our dogs (and ourselves) is a strong defense system, which protects us from everything from the flu germs to cancer cells. Not just me by the way, but more than their mainstream counterparts, holistic veterinarians believe that a weak immune system plays a key role in causing disease. Antibiotics fight infection, but they don't affect whatever weakened the immune system in the first place. This is why holistic veterinarians focus less on things that cause diseases and more on those that affect the body's defenses.

Dr. Will Falconer, DVM - "Most of the chronic diseases we commonly see in animals (and humans) have an immune basis, e.g. diabetes, allergies, asthma, thyroid disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, repeated ear infections, cancer, etc. While they can be cured through the careful use of homeopathy, the road to cure can be a long one -- often years if the animal has had years of disease.

Boost Your Dog's Immune System and Prevent Disease

The main reason a pet gets sick, according to holistic veterinarians, is that something is interfering with the body's natural healing powers (the immune system)

Chronic diseases commonly seen in dogs result from immune suppression. Diabetes, allergies, breathing difficulties, thyroid disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, recurrent ear infections, and even cancer, are all examples of an immune system gone wrong.

Whoops, let's try that again.

The real value of Transfer Factor is that it enhances the absorption of the immune modulators found in K-9 Immunity. This combination is the one-two knockout punch to fight dog cancer. For more info visit http://www.powerbod.com/us/...

The Importance Of A Healthy Immune System

The Importance of Healthy Immune System

Just as the world is filled with disease-causing organisms, the body is filled with defenses to resist them. In fact, no matter what your pet is confronted with, her body is well-designed to fight back. Studies have shown, for example, that cats that have suffered serious nerve injuries can recover complete muscle function. When pets take medications (or eat poisons), the live produces extra enzymes to detoxify them. Even something minor as a pulled muscle is swiftly addressed with an increase in blood flow, which brings additional oxygen and nutrients and carts off wastes. The main reason a pet gets sick, according to holistic veterinarians, is that something is interfering with the body's natural healing powers.
