Every parent wants to have healthy children.
We count their fingers and toes when they're first born, and thank the powers that be when they are all accounted for.But keeping our kids healthy has become a great challenge in today's world.
Providing our kids with the best nutrition is not as easy as it once was
. Fifty years ago, the whole foods produced from the earth were sufficient for proper nutrition
. Today that is no longer the case. Just look at the bread and cereal packaging and you'll see how they've been fortified with vitamins, not in an attempt at making them super foods, but to make them as good as they used to be. Even juice manufacturers are fortifying their products with vitamins
to compensate for what nature no longer supplies naturally.

It is no secret that the baby boomers are concerned about health and longevity, and the health and wellness industry is now big business.
It seems that new information and health products
can be found daily, whether on the Internet, or the national news.
It is amazing that in this day and age, with all of the news coverage regarding violent crime
and assaults against women
, that many people still feel that it can't happen to them. Bad things always happen to someone else...
The irony of it is that those who think that way, are the victims of assault, and that many of these assault victims, if they had been of a different mind set, may have been able to stave off their attacker. Am I saying that they are responsible for the attack? Not at all.

Today, the health and wellness industry is a billion dollar market
. With baby boomers being all too aware of their mortality, nutritional sales
are at an all time high. Unfortunately, not all nutritional products
will produce the desired results these folks are striving for. Since the majority of people living today are searching for ways to live healthy and longer lives, the snake oil salesman has returned to the marketplace.

Sometimes we just can't turn our backs. This is such a time.
This morning, while you woke up in your bed, in your home, tens of thousands of exhausted and confused fathers, mothers and children, at best, woke up in strange surroundings in makeshift shelters filled with total strangers and their cries of hopelessness. Innocent victims of the merciless Katrina.
Are you one of millions of people, world wide, who are trying to lose weight? If you are, remember that you are one of millions of people in the same boat. You are not alone.
Studies have shown that in the United States, more than 65% of adults are over weight, and at least 31% are considered obese. And obesity in children is on the rise as well.
Remember when women could look their age, not burdened with the need to constantly look younger and younger with each passing year? Today, the abudance of anti-aging
substances and cosmetic surgical procedures has placed such an emphasis on the superficial that we've forgotten about what's within. We are so consumed with looking young that we are all too willing to forsake the experience that comes with age.
What do you do when the cure can cause more harm than the problem is solves?
Have you ever noticed that the pharmaceutical ads, on television, carry lengthy disclaimers and serious lists of dangerous side effects? Have you ever read the literature that comes with a prescription? It can be frightening!
Every day, people everywhere, unwittingly expose themselves and Mother Earth, to hazardous materials.
I say unwittingly, because these chemicals are found in the household products that we use every day.
Scientists now believe that exposure to these every day products, is a key factor in the increase of certain chronic illness in children.
