You have heard enough on TV and seen the article on the changing in our environment but what is a person to do? Can you really make any measureable difference? The bottom line – YES! How can that be? Is not it up to the governments to solve our environmental problems; yes in part, but it is up to us to carry through and support the changes. Let us look at a few facts.

" The phrase "conquest of nature" is certainly one of the most objectionable and misleading expressions of Western languages. It reflects the illusion that all natural forces can be entirely controlled, and it expresses the criminal conceit that nature is to be considered primarily as a source of raw materials and energy for human purposes." From A God Within by René Dubos

You can make a change by:

If 25% of families in used 10 fewer plastic bags a month, we could save 2.5 BILLION bags a year. That is a lot of bags, but what if you quit using them at all. We changed and got about 8 tote bags sold in almost all stores. Ours are sturdy and can be washed as necessary. We keep them stuffed them all into one bag in the car, ready to go. Easy fix! And that is not even taking into consideration the savings on oil, processing, water and other manufacturing resources.

Every year we add 24 million tons of leaves and grass to our landfills. It accounts for 75% of our solid waste. Good golly molly, has not anyone out there heard of composting. It is simple and you can use the compost to improve the soil each year around your house. Google Search on Compost will tell you everything you need to know. Over 100 pesticide ingredients are suspected to cause birth defects, cancer, and gene mutations. Now this is one I sink my teeth into. We have a Goes Green home and yes it took a bit of work and planning to get it that way. Here are some ideas on how you can make a BIG IMPACT!

Let us start in the kitchen. Most everyone keeps an array of toxins under the kitchen sink. What’s there? Take our test to evaluate your GREEN ZONE. This test will tell ask what products you have, what toxins are there and then asks what areas you are interested in; like non-toxic biodegradable, etc.

Let us take some time to look at the convictions that we as Shaklee Independent Distributer hold dear. We have 4 areas to look at: Safe Clean – Powerful Clean - Green Clean – Smart Clean. Is not it worth a few moments of your time to read and make informed decisions. I remember when grandma cleaned, it always smelled clean, and the ammonia and pinesol were synonymous with clean. Do you know what clean smells like? Fresh air and no I do not mean the kind that comes in a spray can. So let us take a leap and do something that really does make a difference.

As to Natural Vitamins, almost everyone knows that the American Diet is not adequate for Health and Wellness. Our foods are grown in faraway places, picked before they are mature and full of their intended nutrients, trucked and eventually end up in some factory being processed into the food the average family needs. As well, our cooking processes damage the food quality even farther. Enough! A well planed Natural Vitamin plan will lead to your health and wellness as well as your family. So which is it, McDonalds or Natural Vitamins? As to Natural Vitamins, almost everyone knows that the American Diet is not adequate for Health and Wellness. New Green Cleaners: Are you protecting our Future Generations?

Thursday, December 11, 2008

A message from...
Cindy McAsey-Mom with husband, kids & a farm full of animals

Are you protecting Our Future Generations?

Christopher Gavigan, author and CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World, talks about the effects of toxic household products on children with learning or behavioral disabilities.

Today, the science shows us that there is a clear, direct link between chemicals and man-made toxins and the rise in illnesses and diseases. By removing chemicals from the home, Christopher saw immediate improvement in the children's health.

Healthy Child Healthy World exists to give you information on how to create healthier environments for children. Actions we take today will affect our future generation.

Education is the key to protecting our future generations. I encourage you to seek our alternative non-toxic cleaners. It's good for you, good for your children, and the environment.
