I was invited to participate in the product trial for the new Basic all-purpose* formulation and I just HAVE to comment about the new product.

For the product trial, Shakle* sent two formulations.  The two products were shipped about a week apart.  The product trial was “blind” to me – that is, as a participant, I was not told if a sample was the current Basic cleaner* or a different formulation.

Shakle* sent instructions for use along with each product sample.  The instructions called for specific dilutions and uses for the sample.  For example, there were instructions on the dilution to wash windows, to wash floors, to wash mirrors, etc.  After using the product for about a week doing the various cleaning chores in the instructions, you completed a survey on the product’s performance.

Before we get to the conclustion of the Bill Moyer story..

Bill Moyer hosted a television show a few years back, and we still have the same concerns he addressed in that show.   He reported that 'it' is a medical mystery marked 'urgent'.  The 'it' is the fact that across America, growing numbers of children are suffering from asthma, childhood cancers like leukemia, as well as learning and behavioral disabilities.  Scientists are searching for clues to the causes of these illnesses, and a growing body of research suggests that everyday Environmental toxins - what kids eat, drink, and breathe - may put them at risk.  These scientists are asking questions about the health risks to children growing up exposed to an ever-increasing number of untested chemicals in our environment.

Two disturbing things I heard just in the past two days.  One is that before most of us even leave our bathrooms in the morning, after doing the personal care tasks we do, we are exposed to over 200 chemicals (mostly untested and many potentially harmful).  Also, on the news they were talking about autism, and how the risk that your child will have autism is 1 in 66.  Wow, that is scary to me.  I had heard similar numbers not too long ago, and really fear these numbers will only get worse if we don't take action.
