Marketing Strategies: Social Networking is it for You?

As a Marketing Strategies Coach I'm always testing different platforms of marketing. I've been hanging out in the social media networks for a some time now. I've come to the conclusion if you understand social networks it can be a powerful marketing strategy. My focus has been on facebook and twitter mainly. I do have a presence on several networks also.

Instead of re-inventing the wheel and documenting all of my testing I've been doing, I've decided to link you over to an excellent and very through web strategist. Jerimah Owyang. By the way, I made contact with Jerimah through twitter. By far Twitter has been my favorite social networking site, there are many others. Here are the top social network movers and shakers.  Think of the internet as a huge ocean and there are many good places to do business, we don't all need to flock to the same place.

After learning more about social networking and how it works, you should go into it with focus on what you want in return. Who is your target market?  Focus on networking with those type of people. Through my testing I've found several marketers who have more than one "social network" account  they do this because they have more than one target market. Social networking isn't a one size fit all deal.

In my primary business I have 2 very different target markets. The 1st one is customers and members, these are people who just love what we market. The 2nd one is people who want to build a business. I keep the databases seperate. I very seldom send the same messages out to both groups. Each of these groups do business with me because I'm giving them what they want or need. In some instances these databases inter-twine but for the most part they are seperate.

Do you have 2 or more target markets in your business? You will need to decide which one you want to focus on first. Ong big mistake many marketers make is trying to focus on too many targets at once. I've seen is happen way too much, they end up not being successful at anything. Yes I truly believe in multiple streams of income but focus on one at a time, once you have one going with success, then start another knowing you will still have to put a little effort to keep the first income stream going.

Marketing Mindset: What are your code of Ethics?

This is an awesome short video clip of true sportsmanship. If you watch this video and can honestly say you wouldn't have done what the loosing team members did. Please do yourself a favor and DON'T continue reading my message. One nice thing about doing business online is we can sort and pick who we want to do business with. I choose to bring people on my team who are not only team players, but are willing to go out of their way to help another team.

Just this morning I did a 45 minute training for people who you would consider a competing team. Why did I do it? Because I knew this team desperatly needed some help understanding online marketing methods. It's kind a ironic actually about 5 minutes after finishing this training I see this sportsmanship video. Got a question for ya...

Would you start in a new business venture if you knew FOR SURE in 3 years you would have AT LEAST $5000 residual per month?

I don't know what your answer to this question is but...

For me I would say YES.. if I knew I didn't have to sell the farm to get there.

Granted it does take some money to grow your business, but what if I could say to you that even with a 90% failure rate you could still be making enough to pay for your expenses during those 3 years.

This is next to the worst case scenario guys... the worst thing that could happen is you quit. BIG MISTAKE! A word of advise....you must join a team that has character and stick with them like super-glue!

Press Release Marketing: Top 5 Reason's to Write a Press Release

You probably already know this, but sometimes it's nice to have a reminder of what you should be doing to get results in your business. Successful Business's have been using freee press since the invention of the printing press. Just yesterday while listening to Joe Vitale's newest online video, (posted on my Barefoot Marketing Strategies Blog) it hit me it's been a few years since I've talked about the power of press releases.

Now, let me ask you a question... Can you honestly say you are using press releases to their fullest potential in your business? I decided it was time to share my top 5 reasons for writing press releases.

1. Organic Traffic
This is probably the most obvious one. If your press release is well optimized, it can be ranked in google on 2 to 3 days in the orangic listings. Generally it shows first day under the Google news and other news feeds.

2. Bloggers & Social Network Audience
Many bloggers suscribe to online press release distribution services like PRWeb. (this is a content writing hint) If your press release interests them, they might blog about it and link to your press release. If you consistantly reach out to this audience, you can get significant links, traffic and sales from this.

3. Traffic from Traditional Media
If your press release interests journalists, they will follow up with you and write a story about your business. This will most certainly lead to a burst of website traffic and sales. Did you know journalists are starting to hang out on social network sites looking for a good story? I noticed this trend in my market research of social networks.

4. Link Building
Be sure to put your important keywords linked to your revelant pages on your website. When the press release is distributed some of these links will be picked up by other news feeds.

5. Reputation Control
If someone has criticized your business, one sure way to get the criticsm off the first page of Google search results is to do mutiple press releases.

Online Training: What is one mistake many marketers make?

I hope my headline caught your attention...something just dawned on me today. Many networkmarketers pre-judge Shaklee, because almost everyone has heard of it and most people think they already know all about it. That is the one mistake many marketers make they dismiss something without even taking a look.

Sometimes we self sabatoge the things we say we want.

I have to tell you when I first learned about Veretekk I dismissed it too, but that was because I didn't fully understand the system. It wasn't until several months later that I saw it re-appear that I decided to take another look. As you know I use the system, talk about it, train how to use it, and plain love the results I get.

Got a question for ya...

You know you are on to something big when other reps in your primary company feel they have to dogg the programs you use and decide to pay to have their information show up at the top of google in the sponsored listings. This goes so against the founder of our company always said, "Don't knock the competition they are just doing the best they can." Long time Shaklee Distributors know this quote and I'm sure feel the same way I do. That's why I'll be taking the high road here and doing the best to teach and train other successful marketers not to fall into this kind of "dirty dogg marketing"

I 'm confident that savy business minded people who will be searching for "cindy mcasey" might very well click making this marketer pay, but wouldn't get sucked into signing up under someone who uses such tatics.
