So many times I hear people brag about their page rank in Google. As an online trainer I think it's important for everyone to know that doesn't always show the true picture.
Although most professional search engine optimizers agree that the green PageRank display has little to do with the actual performance of a website in Google and other search engines, many webmasters still focus on websites with a high PageRank when it comes to link building and website promotion.
How to fake the PageRank of a website
The PageRank of a web page can be faked with a combination of a 301 redirect and cloaking. It works like this:
- When a search engine spiders visits a web page URL, the server redirects the spider to a web page with high PageRank.
- Google assigns the high PageRank to the page with the redirection because it thinks that the pages are identical.
- When a human web surfer visits the web page URL, the server does not redirect the surfer. That means that the web surfer sees the web page of the faker and the Google toolbar displays the PageRank of the redirected URL:
To web surfers, it looks as if the web page has a very high PageRank although it hasn't. Note that this method doesn't increase the rankings of the page in any way. It just influences the PageRank display in Google's toolbar.
Google doesn't like cloaking at all so you risk the rankings of your website if you use the method above.
How to check if a website has a faked PageRank
If you think that a web page might have a faked PageRank then you can do the following simple check:
- Search Google for "info:domain.com" (without the quotation marks, replace domain.com with the domain that you want to check).
- If there are no results or if the returned URLs don't match the original URL then it's likely that the PageRank has been faked. If Google returns only one URL for the query and if the URL is the same as the checked URL then the PageRank is okay.
What about the PageRank of your own website?
The green pixels in Google's toolbar are not important. It's important that your website has high rankings for keywords that convert to sales. Website promotion is about getting leads and sales. It's not about getting green pixels.
Don't focus on the PageRank display in Google's toolbar but try to get good rankings for keywords that are relevant to your website. High rankings for relevant keywords that convert to sales are much better than having a lot of green pixels.

The duplication vs delegation debate has hit me hard the last couple of weeks. I just got back from my primary business annual convention. Yes it is exciting some of the new things coming down the pike! They even have a patent on an additional comp plan they just added to the first one. Another thing I heard lots was duplicate, duplicate, duplicate. You know this company has been in business over 50 years and it is very successful, but I truly believe it's because of the products we have to offer NOT the way they have "taught" the field to duplicate!
I recieved this recording from one of my online business associates. It's a training that was done for the sales people who are selling the Jaguar Marketing System. "Shay" the person giving his first sales training has a great talent and as you will notice in the recording like people attract like people.
Listen to the recording it will be well worth your time trust me.

The Jaguar Marketing System has enough cash flow profit built into it that any system owner can afford to hire sales people to help them market. In the MLM industry we have been taught duplication, but really duplication doesn't work most of the time every one comes from a different mold. Some of us are more talented than others on certain tasks. What the Jag training teaches is delegation.
It's funny as I look back at the top leaders in the MLM industry I've noticed that many are teaching duplication but DOING DELEGATION. How many top leaders do you know that have an assistant do the work they don't have time or don't want to do? Those top leaders got to where they are because they were very good at a couple of tasks. Then they became the CEO of their own company and stared delegating.
Jaguar Marketing is a vehicle that allows people just starting out in this industry (or not successful yet) to learn how to become CEO's of their own business. Yes there is an upfront investment..... but then that is IT! They don't nickel and dime you to death with charging monthly for a website, team programs etc...
We have this message board in my primary company that is very much like the most forums out there. Anytime someone has something out of the norm happen in their business it is posted on this site. Well guess what... the week when most of the people in my primary business were in Nashville for our annual convention (including me) a sales person from Jag marketing contacted many of the website owners.
Keep in mind these website owners were the company newbie's (or not real dedicated yet) that got the message. They didn't know how to handle a sales person calling them other than to get upset they were being reverse marketed too. You can imagine the talk on that message board. I came back to find many messages about how Jag marketing was a scam. These people just assumed because someone called them marketing something else it was a scam. I just shook my head and was glad those people weren't in my downline!
Most of you who know me know I try my best to help others succeed. I realized a long time ago if I can help enough other people get what they want I will lead a happy fulfilling life to.
I didn't want to post this on team 21 (the message board) and open up another whole can of worms, but as a blogger I wanted to share other side of the story. As I tried to get my point across on team 21 even though we are working online it's still a relationship business and you will either be drawn to the people you come in contact with or you will be pushed away from those people who you fear most in yourself.
My question for you how many Shay's would you like to have recruiting for your business? If you are thinking like a TOP Leader in the industry... MANY!
