Are Your Thoughts Making You Old?
When I saw this title on Yahoo News this morning I knew it was something I wanted to share. My past job was helping people not to feel washed up and over the hill in the job market. You know it's funny since I've been marketing online I don't see people that think like this anymore. Oh I'm sure they are still out there just not where I am. I remember when I was working that job helping people 55 + get training and employment. I would interview people who were 55 and acted like they were 90.... on the other end of the spectrum I would interview people who were 90 that didn't look or act like they were 55 yet.
I personally could relate with the older person that had a good mindset than one that didn't. Mindset is so important in life wether it's for you health or just succeeding in a business venture or job. If the right mindset is there you have many more chances of success.
I have a blog out there on yahoo 360 that the tag line reads, "It really doesn't make any difference how wealthy you are if you don't have your health to enjoy it."
Here are some steps you can take to ensure your mindset is keeping you young and healthy.
1. Become aware when you automatically default into a negative stereotype about getting old.
2. Create a roster of older people whom you admire
3. Really understand that a balanced view of aging can help you change your attitude in a way that can make a difference in the long-term quality of your life.

In baseball, it's said that you know an umpire is top-notch when you never notice his presence. If he's doing his job, he won't call attention to himself in any way. It's much the same for the
writer of a press release. When the recipient of a release focuses only on its content -- and not on its creation -- the writer has succeeded. With that in mind, here's 5 Commandments of Press Releases:
1. Thou Shalt Be Professional. No goofy fonts, rainbow paper or silly gimmicks. Even lighthearted press releases represent a communication between one professional and another.
2. Thou Shalt Not Be Promotional. If you can't get enough objective distance from your company to write a press release that's not filled with hype and puffery, hire someone to write it
for you.
3. Thou Shalt Not Be Boring. Even the driest subject matter allows for some sparks of creativity. People like knowing that there's a human being communicating with them, not some corporate robot.
4. Thou Shalt Think Visually. A press release is more than words -- it's a visual document that will first be assessed by how it looks.
I'm referring to more than font size or letterhead. I'm talking about the actual layout of the words. Whether received by mail, fax or e-mail, a journalist -- often unconsciously -- will make
decisions about whether to read the release based on how the release is laid out. Big blocks of text and long paragraphs are daunting and uninviting. Short paragraphs and sentences make for a much more visually inviting look.
5. Thou Shalt Tell A Story. How to arrange the facts of a hard news release is pretty much cut and dried. The old "who, what, when, where and how" concepts still hold.

I received the following short quote from a highly successful person. After reading it a couple times the thought that kept coming to my mind was the following.
I wonder why more people don't believe that in order to succeed in
anything in life there are certain things that must happen. Learn what
those things are and then do them over and over and over again regardless
of results. Time and repetition will take care of success process.
In my mind it's all about getting better. It very difficult to improve a presentation when none are being done. It's difficult to get really good at prospecting when it isn't being worked at.
It's hard to sponsor people when there are no appointments. Giving in-home opportunity presentations only are effective if you have the meeting.
Here is the quote that got me to thinking.
I've missed more than nine thousand shots in my career. I've lost almost three hundred games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.

Do you have the mindset for success?
When I got this uTube video from Dr. Joe Vitale last night I knew it would be a good one. He has an amazing mindset that you just can't help but be attracted to. Acutally Pat O'Brian did the recording of Dr. Vitale while at a seminar and took a 9 minute clip of it for this video.
Take a look at... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay86J3ZH1fU

When I opened up my email this morning I had a suprise Happy Mother's Day email. It was from Bobby Ellis, he had interviewed me on his talk show several weeks ago. In fact I had almost forgotten about the interview. He posted the interview on his home page over at www.peopleintheknow.com .
When I re- listened to this interview I had done several weeks I felt there was some good content worth posting here. I gave away some marketing stategies here that I don't think I've talked about before.

What will it take for you to take action and change the results you are not having?
Over the weekend weve had bad storms here in Kansas. A small town of 1400 people was basically wiped off the map with a mile wide tornado on Friday night. We had lots of rain... our area is in a dangerous flood warning.
Ever since 911 ...
I realized life is so precious and we all need to live each day to it's fullest.
None of us really know how much longer we have on this earth. I just found out a business partner I talked to about changing to a healther lifestyle 2 years ago is dying of cancer. 2 years ago I was unable to get through to him that prevention and health was key to a long healthy life. I'm sad for this person, but at the same time I know I did everything I could have done. Then the tornado comes sweeping in and killing and wrecking peoples lives. Kind a makes me sit back and think a little.
Have you ever heard the song by Tim McGraw Live each day like you were dying? After 911, I started doing just that. I changed my outlook on life and this was the turning point in my business. I decided no matter what I was going to make my business work. Are you at a point in your business that it gets put on the back burner sometimes? What will it take for you to decide just to go for it? Do you have to wait for a life changing event or will you take you business in your own hands and just do it.!
I think back to when we were in high school. We thought we could tackle the world... it's that no fear attitude, we wouldn't think of the conquences we would just go for it. The excitement of the journey is so great you don't worry about the how's. It's that kind of attitude that makes a successful business.
My question to you are you willing to do what it takes? How bad do you want it?

Google's Web History feature launched last week. Yes Google is always launching something new and improved this might have not gotten as much press as some of their other launches but it sure grabbed my attention. And it should... It may matter much more to the future of online-ad delivery, as well as the tailoring of search results.
Millions have installed the Google Toolbar, which includes a PageRank meter that rates sites' popularity on a scale of zero to 10. To work, that meter has to report to Google which page is being viewed. That means Google sees every site some toolbar users are visiting.
Until last week, the meter was switched off by default. Now Google pushes a version with the meter enabled and encourages surfers who already have the toolbar to flip the switch. The enticement? Doing so allows those surfers to view a log of all their web visits. In addition, that web history will influence how pages rank in the search results they see.
As a result, a vacation enthusiast searching for "Bahamas" may get more results about the vacation, while an amateur gardener may get more results about the kinds of vegetables. Search marketers will no longer be going after a top ranking in search results that will be the same for most everyone. Instead, they will wage battles on multiple fronts... millions of fronts, really... where each person might get a slightly different set of results.
The good news is that quality content should continue to thrive. Good content attracts visits. And visits, especially return ones, will register in people's web histories and pay off with better rankings.
The move also means Google is building surfing profiles for individuals. Knowing where people go will allow Google to better target them with ads, behaviorally and post-search, with ads related to recent searches. To do this, Google simply needs them to visit pages where it controls the delivery of ads. Through AdSense, it has plenty of pages in its control.
One thing to remember is CONTENT is KING if you have good relative content about what your promoting your information will be seen by a more targeted audience. That's what you want for you business is people who are looking for what you have. The way I look at this is this it's really better for the marketer who is just writing and putting out good relative content.
