Not getting any response from your advertising? Not making any sales on your web site? The problem could be your business is looking too much like all the others. You need to have something that makes you business stand out from the rest.
The key is to insist your ads STRESS what makes your business DIFFERENT from the others.
I'm not saying your business IS like all the others. In fact, you can probably think of several strong reasons right now that make your business different AND better than others in your industry. BUT, your ads and web site may not be stressing those differences. If you are using company ads, email and content... well guess what you will look like everyone else. I know it takes a little time and self confidence but you must learn to write your own ads and emails. Or hire someone to write them for you.
Let me give you an example of how good web sites are getting messed over by the wrong approach.
This week I spent some time looking at hundreds of business opportunities online to see how they are being marketed. Almost ALL tout their ability to make you a LOT of money. You can earn
without doing any work, any sales, and use amazing automation to accomplish it all.
Sounds good, right? Until you realize there are literally HUNDREDS of opportunities being advertised with exactly the same benefits. So many choices mean prospects lump everybody in the
same pile, probably saying "they all look the same so I don't believe any of them."
Look for ways your business is different from others in your field. Maybe you talk with every customer on the phone, or provide 30 day free follow-up, or accept returns with no questions asked, or offer free consultations, or customize your product or service for each customer.
Last but not least create your own brand or image for you business! If don't have a brand or image take the time to read the "Purple Cow" by Seith Godin. That book will open your eyes and get the creative juices flowing to help you create something that stands out from the crowd. Come to one of my online trainings about creating an image or brand for you business. Here is my eventschedule http://events.barefootsuccess.net I update this weekly.

It's amazing to me sometimes how fast things change on the internet changing our marketing s delivery methods. When I first came online and ebooks were so big at the same time I knew they would become outdated quickly.
Now we have all these cool tools that update as content changes. (called dynamic) For instance the in the right side bar of this channel you will see the Qguide. It always shows the next webcast that I'm hosting. We have RSS feeds from channels and blogs that are dynamic too. To me ebooks and email are like the stone age when it comes to internet marketing. Although there still is a place for it, because not everyone is up with the times.
Just this morning I was working with a new little tool called Qhelper. I personally think it will take communicating online to the next level too. I finally have it in my email template so when someone reads my email and has a question all they have to do is click on the little qhelper button and talk to me.
It looks like this:
If they have questions I can easily take them to my online web conference room where we can talk and look at webpages together. I think of webconferencing like talking across the kitchen table. Gosh why would someone take the time to reply to and email that might not make it though the spam filters when they can talk to you directly now!
There is another marketing strategy that is taking the internet by storm it's video. When I first started seeing this pop-up I fought it tooth and nail. I told myself I worked too hard to create my lifestyle that I have now and I wasn't about to put my business clothes on just to sit in front of the computer. In a way I come from the old school when it comes to apparence.
I have it instilled in me to dress for the occasion. In fact when I was the state director for a national non-profit I was told I shouldn't even go to the grocery store with out dressing for success. I was in the employment and training field and was taught I should be leading my example. Besides that I'm very picky about appearances too, probably the cosmetologist in me coming out. This goes to show we are a product of our past experiences.
I'm quickly getting over the video internet blues now... I have discovered many creative uses of video without taking a picture of yourself in front of the computer working. After sitting in on a few sessions that Tim Romero and Kurt Steele are doing on TC presenter I'm seeing the light. Then I get a message from Google this morning announcing their new click to pay video ads. Here is link that explains: https://adwords.google.com/select/videoads.html
Lets face it to keep up with the times we need change and adjust or be left in the dust.

This is one of the coolest viral marketing strategies I've seen...
Mark Joyner the guy who has Simpleology.com is one of the masters when it comes to viral marketing and I might add has taught many "gurus" viral marketing techniques. Today as I was working on my new online franchise project I ran across his blog with one of the greatest viral marketing strategies I seen.
Basically he has made up all these neat little cartoons that has his website prominately displayed and a very easy tool that you can copy and paste the code in your site or email. Here is an example of one that I thought was cute, given the holidays are coming up and most people are going to be eating things that are just plain un-healthy and consume way more food than their body needs.

I don't know about you but when I get chance learn from people like Donald Trump I take note and listen.
Donald Trump included advice from Shak*** Chairman and CEO, Roger Barnett, in his new book entitled The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Requested: 100 Top Experts Share Their Strategies.
In Mr. Trump's book, published this week, Roger counsels would-be real estate moguls to "Buy the best. The best is always expensive today, but a good value tomorrow."
His comments should resonate well with Shak*** distributors: We'd all do well to follow his advice whether we're buying real estate, supplements or household cleaners. The point is, quality matters - Shaklee is quality!
We can learn so much from people like Donald Trump and Roger Barnett. I encourage you to take a look at all the Donald Trump Books online at Amazon.com... pick one out and read it. Here is the list .
Why not learn from the best. Have you ever heard the saying you will grow to be like the people you hang around the most. One way to hang around with people like this is to get into their mind by reading books from them. Many many great marketing strategies have come from Donald Trump's writings.

I've been sitting on the MySpace Buzz, because I have heard there are some security issues. Here is the post that talks about it. http://www.thevirtualhandshake.com/blog/2006/10/23/myspace-phishing-spyware-identity-theft
I'm really thinking there are some problems here, because over the weekend my son Matt had his computer crash and had to call support to get it restored. The first thing out of the customer support person's mouth was... have you been on My Space?
I decided today I should go ahead and post about this wonderful MySpace marketing strategy, because I've been doing this same thing on other places like MySpace... so I know it works.
The way I look at it we are all business people here and you can decide for your self if this great no cost marketing strategy is something you want to use or not. Personally it's worked for me using other services not getting near the traffic as MySpace does. If you think about it though you really don't need masses to build a strong stable business on the net.
OK on to the MySpace buzz...
