Stressed with Credit Card Debts?
By Attorney Ray Bulaon
This Article is from Asian Journal
SINCE the credit card companies decided to raise the minimum monthly payments last year, a lot of consumers are finding themselves squeezed in a very tight financial spot.Prior to the implementation of the new policy, a lot of people were already struggling with their monthly credit card payments. And now it’s even worse.By raising the minimum monthly payments, federal regulators believed they were helping consumers get out of debt sooner while in the process also saving them a fortune that they would have paid in outrageous interest alone. The intention behind the policy seems sound but the sad reality, of course, is that not everyone can afford higher payments. This is likely to result in increased account defaults in the near future.

Graduated payments
There are ways to get out from under those big college loans. This is a Press Release from ConsumerReport.org
"Most new college graduates brought home a lot more than a diploma and worn textbooks this spring. They were shouldering a big load of debt--on average about $17,000 in federally guaranteed education loans, according to a recent study by the State Public Interest Research Groups' (PIRGs) Higher Education Project. That's double the debt level that students carried eight years ago and doesn't include other types of loans. What's more, 41 percent of graduating seniors also carry an average credit-card balance of more than $3,000.

Rip Van Winkle
Rip Van Winkle, however, was one of those happy mortals, of foolish, well-oiled dispositions, who take the world easy, eat white bread or brown, whichever can be got with least thought or trouble, and would rather starve on a penny than work for a pound. If left to him self, he would have whistled life away, in perfect contentment; but his wife kept continually dinning in his ears about his idleness, his carelessness, and the ruin he was bringing on his family.
There was a drop of comfort, at least, in this intelligence. The honest man could contain himself no longer.—He caught his daughter and her child in his arms.—“I am your father!” cried he—“Young Rip Van Winkle once—old Rip Van Winkle now!—Does nobody know poor Rip Van Winkle!”
All stood amazed, until an old woman, tottering out from among the crowd, put her hand to her brow, and peering under it in his face for a moment, exclaimed, “Sure enough! it is Rip Van Winkle—it is himself. Welcome home again, old neighbor.—Why, where have you been these twenty long years?”
Rip’s story was soon told, for the whole twenty years had been to him but as one night. The neighbors stared when they heard it; some where seen to wink at each other, and put their tongues in their cheeks; and the self-important man in the cocked hat, who, when the alarm was over, had returned to the field, screwed down the corners of his mouth, and shook his head—upon which there was a general shaking of the head throughout the assemblage.
I this instance the moral of the story is "Don't wake up one day in Credit Card Debt to find that life's opportunities have passed you by".

The Credit Card Rest In Pease (RIP) has Announced the Availability of a Website with Audio and Text Files for Consumers Interested in Eliminating Credit Card Debt
We are all tired of feeling powerless, of being worried, of getting that queasy feeling every time the phone rings and every time the mailman comes. Cardholders can eliminate these feeling if they are stress or overwhelmed with credit card debt.
This subject was addressed in a resent article at Newswire Today (newswire - Hoschton, GA, United States, 03/18/2006) titled: "After Bankruptcy Reform Consumers are now Learning How to Discharge Debt."
"Americans carrying too much credit card debt have had the Bankruptcy option swept away. Many are now turning to a little known alternative; discharge 100% of their debt without bankruptcy, consolidation, or refinancing.
Thanks to the new bankruptcy reform laws, many Americans who are overburdened by their credit card debt will no longer qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection. However, consumers need to know that an alternative exists for people to walk away from 100% of that debt.
The process that is used to discharge debt is based off of U.S. Supreme Courts decisions, Title 15 United State Code (USC) section 1692, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, section 1601, the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), section 203, and numerous Banking and Lending laws.
There are many cases that have already been decided on when it comes to the issues of money, credit, and banking. The collection of interest on credit issued by a bank or a credit card company is in direct violation of all usury laws. In addition, the United States Supreme Court has ruled time and again against the legal authority for banking institutions to lend credit. Both Federal and state laws allow banks to lend money, but banks do not have the authority to loan credit."
The Nay Sayers or Stumbling Block on and off the Internet who tout significant credentials, will tell the public that Eliminating Credit Debit is a Scam. If we are not a tuned to the straw horse technique, we will be convinces that they are right. After all they are published experts with years in the business. Here is an example from one of these experts whose identity will go un-named.
"Debt-elimination companies claim that they can eliminate your debt and that you do not have to make any more payments with no repercussions. Sounds good, huh? Too good! The bottom line alleged by these companies is that the debt that you have incurred using credit cards is not legal debt. The murky debt-elimination process is said to be based on information from Title 15 United State Code -- section 1692, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act -- section 1601, the Fair Credit Billing Act and the Uniform Commercial Code -- section 203."
The first straw horse is "no repercussions". Of course there will be repercussions. The point is how are those repercussions resolved. When did anyone ever do anything without some resulting consequences to the bad or good? The next straw horse is "murky debt-elimination process". To resolve this matter, do the research and start wiping away the muskiness. The public is well served by reading the law to learn how the are protected.
Gee how is it possible that two people writing on the same law to could come up with different conclusion. This kind of editorial advice by the non-named expert does not serve the Consumer and this is especially true when it comes to Credit Card Debt. Credit Cardholder facing un-manageable debt need to learn about their right under law. The adage "if you don't know your rights, you have none" was never truer than when it comes to credit card debt. With that said, the Credit Card RIP website offers Cardholders an debt relief service that has a 6-year history with over 6,000 clients who have successfully eliminated over $145 million in Credit Card Debt. Very favorable settlement options are also possible.
