In today's business podcast, I will share the inspiring story of Kyle Maynard, author of the book, No Excuses.

Kyle has only 3 joints in his body - his neck and two shoulders. Yet he is a state wrestling champion. He is Arnold Schwarzeneggar's hero, and has been featured on Oprah.com, and here is why.

Kyle Maynard lost his first 35 or so consecutive wrestling matches - and never quit!

His coach was so impressed with his attitude that he developed new coaching moves just for Kyle's body and abilities. He then became Geogia's State Wrestling Champion. He wrote his book and took a hiatus from his status as college student to join a high-profile inspirational
speaking tour.

What does Kyle have to do with Brain Storm! Business Podcast?

He proves, once again, that we are limited only by our own attitude. If you have not put your business brainstorming ideas to the test, or started developing those ideas into real products and services, there is "no excuse". The only thing stopping you from achieving your business goals is your unwillingness to persevere until you succeed.

I would like to buy 5 Brain Storm! listeners Kyle Maynard's book, No Excuses.

For the first five (5) business brainstormers who email me at penny@1stpod.com about tell me about the business idea they are committed to pursue in 2007, I will purchase Kyle's book for you for the holidays. I want you to have a "break-out" year in 2007, and there's no reason that it can't happen!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

In today's business podcast, we will look at a great way to create prototypes of inventions you create, and doing what I call piggyback marketing.

I will start business podcasting by talking about eMachineShop (http://www.eMachineShop.com). They have created software you can download and use to draw a template of your invention, including choosing materials. Then eMachineShop will give you a quote and create it for you.

We also talk about the Google desktop sidebar - I just like the photo rotator.

I had heard about it, but I don't like Google's indexing of my own computer and having access to it. So I tried and and took off the indexing. Now I get to view my photos from my trip to England, which brings back great memories. I must admit, I like the calendar, the news and the Scratch Pad, too. If you want to check it out, just go to http://www.Google.com.

Next, we discuss the business implications of whether or not Sony's PS3 is a success or a failure.

Fast Company has a great diagram of who will be affected by the fate of the PS3. Supposedly, Sony has a lot invested in this new game system, including their HDTVs, Blue Ray DVD Format, music and related download offerings. Some people think they could go under if they have misjudged their customers. However, many companies are rooting for its success, as they stand to profit as well.

Lastly, I tell you about my long awaited project that doing Brain Storm! inspired me to do.

I can't tell you to take your ideas and make them concrete if I don't ever do it. So I did it! I designed the project, hired the programmers, pre-sold several of them, found additional applications for it, and will hopefully go live before the end of November. I explain more about it in the podcast, and you can see some pre-release (still in development) tutorial videos I share with my present Directory Owners at http://www.PodcastingDirectories4Sale.com. If you're interested, let me know, as I have some other practical applications for it now!

Until next week, don't just brainstorm, DO something about it to make it a reality!

In today's business podcast, we will discuss new ideas for office space - as a business opportunity and a helpful idea for your own business.

There's a new movement toward renting office space by the hour. This is not just for out of towners, but also for local entrepreneurs who work from home. If they don't have an office for entertaining potential clients, this can come in handy.

We brainstorm about potential business opportunities that would come from being the person renting the office.

We also discuss related products and services that can benefit such a business. What would an office that is rented by the hour need? Some existing franchises even offer a cafeteria, massage and spas, conference rooms and video conferencing.

We also discuss ways to retain branding uniformity while blending in with the locals.

Nokia hired the same designers that Steve Jobs hired to create the Apple Stores (the same that sold the iPods...). They found a way to retain control over the stores to provide uniformity, while still allowing for localized individuality.

Next week, we will talk about a great place to get one-offs for your brainstorm ideas without going broke, and also about the brainstorm project I took from design to production! You inspired me...<smile>

In today's Brain Storm! business podcast, we will again talk about the changing marketing strategies and technological innovations targeting Baby Boomers.

First, we discuss a very Boomer-centric television commercial I viewed this past week. How many of you have tried to convince your parents to get a cell phone? Well, this commercial shows a relieved daughter purchasing her mother a cell phone that the mother actually likes and will use.

From this, we learn that marketing to boomers also entails marketing to their children.

If you can convince the adult child that their parent needs this and can use it simply, then you have most likely made a sale. Adults want to make sure their parents are taken care of, and as they age, they want to be notified of any emergencies or potential concerns. Making sure your parents have a cell phone helps ease the worries we children sometimes have.

Next we discuss the marketing techniques of a 39 year old entrepreneur, and how he WISELY doesn't make a move without the approval of his mother.

No, he's not a "momma's boy", although the article header would make you think so. He has just used his closest contacts (which includes his Baby Boomer mother) to do his initial market research. It proves to be very inexpensive, and very effective. It also stops him from working on projects that are too advanced for his mother (such as VOIP).

Learn about his technological advances and what we can glean from his marketing strategy and the marketing strategy of the new cell phone manufacturer (note, it was NOT one of the mobile carriers that created this!).

Of course, we brainstorm about how we can use these strategies for our own businesses, so dig in and make the most of today's business podcasting.
