In today's business podcast, we will earn about remote controlled people, drugs developed from eggs and solar power coming to a city near you - all on Brain Storm!, your business podcast. We are continuing to talk about new business technology, so we can stay ahead of the game and develop business strategies and innovative ideas to coordinate with what's coming around the bend. Remote Controlled People - Good or Bad?I thought of some great ways to utilize this GVS technology in combination with GPS, and keep people safer from known criminals. (You have to listen to the podcast to find out what it is, though!). The idea that electrical stimulation to the ear can affect where a person moves and how he feels fits perfectly into the next generation of virtual games as well. Orwellian or not, the technology is there...how will you profit from it? Chickens Carrying Drug AntibodiesWhat if you could produce pharmaceuticals that detect cancer at half the cost? What if you could do it using chickens instead of cultures in labs? Well, that's what they're working toward. The only reason I could imagine the large companies not utilizing it is because they want to keep charging astronomical costs. Then again, that's only my humble opinion. Solar Power is closer than you think...It may begin in the Mojave Desert and power Los Angeles, but solar power may be coming to your city. Using ingeniously simple technology, including a Stirling engine the size of a motorcycle engine, solar energy could transform everything. We talk about what extrapolations can come from this.

In today's business podcast, we will discuss the coolest new business technology innovations around! As you know, the purpose of the Brain Storm! Business Podcast is to review and analyze new business technologies, trends, strategies and personalities. Then we take the lessons we learn and apply them to our own businesses, or create new businesses. Today's business podcast will give you a sneak preview of some upcoming technological developments that can benefit YOU. Worldwide WiFi, Waterless Washing Machines, Robotic Skin, Nano MaterialsWe will talk about WiFi innovations that will allow anyone, anywhere in the world to connect via wireless broadband. The technology is 1/10th the cost and supports 1000 times as many users! To me, that means we should get ready to reach 1000 times more customers!!! hehehehe What are the implications for washing machines that use ionized particles instead of detergent? How about robotic skin that can tell pressure and temperature? Nano materials that are stronger than steel and can conduct energy? These are just a few of the inventions that today's business podcast will cover. Once again, let me remind you about the upcoming Women's Podcasting Expo, an oline event July 14-16, 2006. In today's business podcast, we will discuss some additional thoughts on the changing direction of business in the future. In the last podcast, we mentioned 3 major moves: - Moving away from the "9-5 corporate factory worker" model to a more international, internet-connected, "round-the-clock" business model. This is a huge shift in the way we have done business for a century, and is long overdue.
- Moving away from the "good ole boy" political model of hiring those that quietly fit into a corporate mold to hiring individuals according to skill, talent and insight. (We'll discuss some more about this in today's business podcast.)
- Advertising and marketing moving away from the traditional tv/radio/print arenas to cross-platform multi-media arenas, including blogging, vlogging/vidcasting, podcasting, and inernet. This shifts the entire design process for advertising, as they have to utilize campaigns that can be used multi-dimensionally. (Again, this is a subject we will discuss from another angle in this business podcast.)
Today, we will discuss: - Moving away from computing as we know it toward a more human type of artificial intelligence. This entails mimicing the brain's capacity to assess and assimilate data in order to construct a model of the world around it. This in turn allows the brain to make predictions based on that world model. Don't worry, we give examples of what we're talking about, as well as how this type of technology will transform the world as we know it.
- The transparency that now permeates business due to the easy availability of information on the internet will force businesses to
- hire better people, - produce products more ethically and morally, and - increase responsiveness to client wants and needs.
- Product (and service) creation will move away from the antiquated business model of basing design solely on the end user. Instead, design teams will work together to keep other factors in mind from idea inception, in particular, how we will market it to the end user. This question is historically an afterthought once the product is designed.
So, as you can see, this business podcast will cover some interesting topics and have a wide variety of implications. I hope it will exercise your brain and spur you on to great ideas for your own business. I just want to remind you that brainstorming by itself is never enough - you must DO something with those ideas to transform them from a business dream to a concrete reality! On the next podcast, we will discuss some of the coolest business inventions coming down the pike. Not only would they make great investments, but knowing what may transpire in the future allows you to plan peripheral products and services. Yes, you can ride the wave without having to have produced the wave! Lastly, just a reminder that the online Women's Podcasting Expo is coming up July 14-16, 2006. We have a stellar group of seminar speakers, and I hope to release the schedule in the next podcast. Tickets are only $20 before July, and include access to every one of the seminars and networking events. And if you're not interested in the Women's Podcasting Expo, you can make plans to attend the International Podcasting Expo October 20-22, 2006! Until next week, keep brainstorming!
