Brain Storm! Business Podcast: News, Technology & Marketing
Well, we've had one entry for the "Put a Chip In It" contest, so I'm going to extend the contest one more week. Otherwise, Suzette Flemming will be the undisputed winner of the $25 paypal payment. Her comment is listed below and is in today's show, so if you'd like a crack at the money, tell us what every day object you think should have a chip put in it, and why...

Brandon Maas, another listener, graced us with a great idea based on the waterproof MP3 player created by FreeStyle Audio. You'll hear his grand idea in today's show too. Brandon wins a free audio book from our digital download audio book store, Encouraging Audiobooks.

If you've got a brainstorming idea based on any of the shows we do, please share it with us, via the telephone recording line or in the comments. You'll get a free audio book, and maybe a special prize...you never know when I'm feeling generous!

Based on an article in the May 2005 issue of Fast Company, entitled "Change or Die", this podcast deals with the truth (and the falsehoods we have willingly believed) about how change occurs, and what brings about change.

Using Dr. Dean Ornish (and his vegetarian diet that is proven to undo the damage of heart disease) as an example of breaking the mold and successfully getting people to do what they don't want to do, the article details how to get through to people. It isn't through logic - we should all know by know that we believe what we want to believe most of the time, regardless of the facts. And it isn't through fear - people are prone to sink into denial when the news is too bad.

No, it has to do with speaking positively to people's emotions, helping them change their basic attitudes, moving them beyond incremental changes to leaps and bounds, providing a support group to walk them through it, and then building a habit that will eventually come to them as easy as breathing.
