For today's Words for the Week I wanted to share with you a Marriage Covenant that I wrote up for my husband back in 2004 as a special way to renew our vows. Last week was our 10 year anniversary and I was reminded of these marriage vows that I wrote up to encourage my husband at that time.

The last ten years have been challenging as every married couple can understand yet wonderful and has brought two very special people into our lives, our daughter and son who we can't even imagine our lives being without.

But the longer we are with someone, the easier it gets to take for granted those that we love and not express how much they mean to us. I realized I had been taking for granted that my husband knew I loved him and this marriage covenant was a special way for me to tell him just how much I do love him and what he means to me.

I encourage you to do something similar and it doesn't even have to be your anniversary or Valentines day because doing things out of the blue and when it is least expected can make it even more meaningful and special.

Enjoy!

To My Wonderful Husband
On Valentines Day

From this day forward, I renew my Marriage Covenant to
Love, Cherish and be United with you becoming one flesh
(Genesis 2:24) 'til death do us part.

I will do my best to be a suitable Coompanion and Helper
(Genesis 2:18) that is generous with my affections being
Kind and Compassionate. (Ephesians 4:32)

I will do my best to Submit to you as is fitting in the Lord
(Col. 3:18) and to Respect you with my words and actions,
Honoring you above myself. (Romans 12:10)

I pray I will be for you a Wife of Noble Character ...
One who sets about my work vigorously ...
who speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction ...
and watches over the affairs of our household ...
(Proverbs 31) with a quiet and gentle spirit. (1 Peter 3:4)

First and foremost I wanted to appologize for the podcasts not working the past couple of weeks. It has been fixed and hopefully we won't be having any problems from here on out but you know how techonolgy goes sometimes.

First I want to give you a little background to what I want to encourage you with today. I had met this wonderful lady by the name of Randee Krumwiede who is the founder of The Pink Collar Club some time last year. I had taken her Path to Purpose ecourse which is a 14 day journey. If you are interested in checking out this free ecourse, I highly recommend it, you can find it at her website at pinkcollarclub.org.

But today I wanted to talk about one particular day in the ecourse that stuck in my mind where she asked us to ponder the possibilites in our lives by starting with a "What if...? question and to fill in the blank for our lives.

Since I was pondering the What If...? for my life I also thought it would be great to start a What if...? blog. I talked to Randee about doing it together and to get others involved and some good discussions going. We decided to start the blog along with 3 other women calling it "The What If...? Women".

The What if women is a blog that ponders the possibilities where we begin each day with a simple question: What if...? It may be a fun and light hearted post or a serious post, you never know what you are going to get as we all bring our different personalities to the blog.

We started the blog not even a week ago but already have some great posts and comments from others on the topics:

What If...We Embraced Uncertainty?
What If . . . We Didn't Complain?
What if ... I ran away from home?

Be sure to come on over and join in the discussions at thewhatifwomen.blogspot.com, we'd love to have you ponder the possibilities with us.
